“NJ CAN 2020 led a campaign focused on racial justice…putting front and center racial and social justice issues to voters. And we recognized early on…that voters truly cared about those racial justice priorities, including…making sure that we stop the waste of police resources (hundreds of millions of dollars a year) going towards something that most of New Jersey believes should be legalized; making sure when we do legalize, the tax revenue goes to those communities hardest hit by the War on Drugs. Those are just some of the things that resonated with voters along the way…and we saw a victory like no other.”
