When I deliver files to my clients, the email comes with some warnings about some traps when using services like Distrokid and Tunecore, etc. They each offer various "services" that leverage fear to get you make rash decisions that do nothing good for the musician but make them more money.

A good example of this is 's extra paid option to normalize your music ahead of time. This is such an astoundingly stupid thing to offer, and it has ruined many an upload.

has been my recent favorite, due to their lack of terrible money grabs like I just mentioned, but today I discovered that they have offered what is possibly the most despicable "service" to their customers. As of December 2024, Tunecore (and possibly others) are giving you the "opportunity" to "Protect Your Content By Opting In to Tunecore's AI and Data Protection Program." That sounds like it's a good thing, but if you wade through the incredibly long terms of this contract, you're actually GIVING UP your rights, not protecting them. New EP by Alive In The End is out today! This is another one recorded and mixed by one of my original VÁNAGANDR band mates, Kevin. Featuring not one, but two guitar virtuosos, it features some really sick guitar solos and riffs and it was a real fun one to work on! Mastered here at Ted Whitten Media!

Went to an presentation by on the use of infrasound in music and got to experience his new speaker setup. This new rig, called the Terror Generator, has a 1x15 for a tweeter, driven by a Crown amplifier, and a 1x30 Powersoft M-Force driver housed in a custom built enclosure and driven by a 14kW M-Drive amplifier. It was a great time catching up with and tonight! It's always fun to get the chance to meet some of the artists I work with in real life! They put on an amazing show too! , of , also did an incredible job on vocals tonight, what a powerful performance!
