What an incredible night last night was! I started hunting lower lattitue aurora's 10 years ago and for 10 years would be dissapointed that while the "values" were the highest we'd seen, whenever I'd go out to see them in person they wouldn't be visible to the naked eye. Last night it finally happend, we could see color! Note that the photos are an enhancement of the colors. But for the first time in 10 years the sky was indeed filled with color and was bright enough at times to be as bright as a full moon. Here are a few shots from last night Tracy and I went back to Mt Adams for the highest storm values in more than 20 years. It was so different from any other night because we didn't have to just look north! It was all around us. Some of my favorite shots including the one that looks like angel wings were shot directly above me and slightly to the south!
