Zilingo Meltdown: Zilingo’s fallout has affected the Tech industry in South Asia and beyond badly. It puts a question mark in front of the company’s survival.

Why Did Zilingo Fire CEO Ankiti Bose?
Earlier, Ankiti Bose, former CEO of Zilingo was fired from her startup over financial irregularities. Singapore tech darling allegedly suspended Ankiti bose Chief executive officer.
“The company decided to terminate Ms. Ankiti Bose’s employment with cause, and reserves the right to pursue appropriate legal action,” the statement said.
“I feel like my baby has been taken from me,” the 30-year-old said.
In march 31, 2022 she was suspended from the e-commerce company.
“I have been suspended for the last 51 days on the basis of an anonymous whistle-blower complaint, and today I am informed that my employment has been terminated inter alia on grounds of ‘insubordination’,” Bose said.

An investigation was opened about the financial irregularities. However, the probe findings have not been made public.

Within weeks, 100 + staff left the company creditors started recalling their loans.

Reportedly, the fallout of the company was sudden from the outside, however, from the inside red flag was seen a year ago according to a former employee.

Tinder chief executive officer (CEO) Renate Nyborg leaves the dating app. As per the reports, she leaves the dating app company in less than one year after the disappointing second-quarter results. Match groups are the parent company of the dating app. Bernard Kim is the next CEO of the company, however, they are looking for a permanent chief executive officer.

“While we search for a permanent Tinder CEO, I will oversee a newly formed team of executives who will manage day-to-day operations and will ensure the Tinder organization is well coordinated, ships great new features at an increased velocity, and delivers on Tinder’s promise,”.

The dating company has announced to stop virtual currencies and metaverse-based dating. The management and structure of the company have been changed after the departure of Ms. Nyborg.

In a letter to the shareholders, the match group chief executive Kim said, “Today we’re announcing the departure of Tinder CEO Renate Nyborg, and I have made some changes to the management team and structure that I am confident will help deliver Tinder’s full potential”.

Uber Technologies has recently sold its 7.8% stake in Zomato Ltd. The US firm sold the stake for a price of $350 million on Wednesday. Moreover, Uber has made the deal locally through a block deal.

And BofA Securities was the only bookrunner of the transaction.

Zomato Uber Deal: Who Bought the Stakes?

About 20 funds (both global and Indian) have bought the stakes in the Indian food delivery firm. Some top names are –

Fidelity.

India’s ICICI Prudential.

Franklin Templeton.

Overall, the stake had sold at a price of 50.44 rupees per share.

The Deal:

In early 2020, the US firm sold its local Uber Eats to Zomato. In the deal of it, Uber acquired a stake in the Red food delivery firm. However, things have not worked out for the US firm. As it had lost $707 million on the investment of Zomato in the 1st half of 2022. It has further stated a net loss of $2.6 billion for the 2nd quarter.

Marc Rosen who owes the Marilyn Monroe Estate said in a statement that “Any actor that steps into that role knows they have big shoes to fill. Based on the trailer alone, it looks like Ana was a great casting choice as she captures Marilyn’s glamour, humanity, and vulnerability. We can’t wait to see the film in its entirety!”.

Apart from Ana De Armas Andrew Dominik’s “Blonde” starring Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel, and Julianne Nicholson. The movie is based on a novel by Joyce Carol Oates. The film shows her volatile childhood and her rise to stardom.

Dia Mirza: niece Tanya Kakde died in a car accident in Hyderabad. The 25-year-old was travelling along with her 3 friends. Tanya died on the spot as her car collided with the road divider while travelling from Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi airport. The 4 other friends sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to the hospital while Tanya died on the spot.

Her body was taken to Osmania hospital and her parents were informed.

Dia mirza sharing this heartbreaking news shared a photo of Tanya along with an emotional message on social media “My niece. My child. My Jaan. Gone into the light. May you find peace and love wherever you are my darling… you always brought a smile to our hearts and the higher realms will be filled with more light with you dancing, smiling and singing. Om Shanti.”

Who was Tanya Kakde?

Tanya Kakde was the step-daughter of congress leader Firoz khan. She was 25 years old. By profession, she was a makeup artist. Earlier in an interview with You and I magazine, she said she sees dia mirza as her inspiration.
