Dear mind,

Please, just pause for a while.
So many thoughts, so many questions, so many answers
I can’t take it anymore.

My body isn’t as tired as I am inside.

When I try to sleep, instead of rest,
I get lost over and over again
in the crowd of your thoughts.

I just want a little peace,
a chance to breathe
free from all these thoughts.

No one knows how many roads I have walked, absentmindedly, without any real purpose.
When someone familiar stopped me along the way and asked, “Where are you going?”
I replied, “Just a little further ahead.”

Then I asked myself How did I get here? Why did I come here?

Who knows perhaps emptiness understands me better than I understand myself.

Imagine,
It’s a full moon night. No one else around, just you and me.
The sky is filled with the moon and stars, shining brightly everywhere,
with the sound of crickets in the background.

Imagine,
Two chairs and two mugs of coffee.
A soft breeze, and a song on your lips.
Fireflies glowing between us as we sit face to face.
You’re trying to sing, and I’m trying to create poetry with words.

Imagine,
We’re looking at the faraway sky, holding hands.
There’s rhythm in your voice.
Our endless little jokes turn into love.
We argue playfully about who gets to be the star and who gets to be the moon.

Imagine,
I see your angry face,
like the darkness of a new moon night still hasn’t gone.
Then suddenly, one smile from you—
like the moonlight spreading across the sky.
And then, you simply say, “I love you.”

So tell me…
at that moment, isn’t a kiss necessary?

Dear Fondness,
