১৯৪১–১৯৪৫ সালের দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধে বার্মা ফ্রন্টে নিহত প্রায় ৪৫,০০০ কমনওয়েলথ সৈনিকের স্মৃতিকে অমর করে রাখতে দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার বিভিন্ন স্থানে ৯টি রণ সমাধিক্ষেত্র গড়ে তোলা হয়।

বাংলাদেশে দুটি রণ সমাধিক্ষেত্র রয়েছে—একটি চট্টগ্রামে এবং অপরটি আমাদের কুমিল্লার ময়নামতিতে।
নিরিবিলি ও শান্ত সবুজে ঘেরা এই সমাধিক্ষেত্রে প্রতিবছর দেশি-বিদেশি অসংখ্য মানুষ যুদ্ধে নিহত সৈন্যদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে আসেন।
