☃️ Well snow lovers… I’m saying there’s a chance.

You may have seen a bunch of snow maps floating around, but at this range this is the only one I find reliable. This ensemble puts all of the data together and comes up with an average to tell you what the chances for seeing over an inch of snow might be and right now.. it’s about 30-50% and as low as 20% in some spots. It’s possible still, but hardly a big winter storm at least as of right now. We will update you if anything changes! We won’t know anything about accumulation or exact locations until we are much closer.

🚨 REND LAKE NEARING RECORD LOW WATER LEVELS—

🌵 It’s been dry. Rend Lake sits currently at 403.64 ft and the record from 1974 at the dam is 402.95 ft. Seems likely this record will break as our dry spell continues!

🌡️ HIGHS NEAR 60 TUESDAY 🌡️

Tuesday looks pretty mild, but don’t get too used to it. Winter makes a comeback after the 14th with multiple shots of Arctic air possible as well as chances for light snow. More on that later!

And just like that… winter decided to show up again. 🥶

Anyone actually enjoying this?

❄️ SNOW LATER THIS MONTH?

👇🏻 Let’s talk! Right now it looks like we do have about a 30-40% chance to see at least 1” of snow through January 25th. Not a huge chance, but it’s not nothing! The bottom line is that we don’t really know for sure, but the general overall pattern looks at least somewhat favorable for a few systems between the 14th-25th. If I see anything more concrete I will let you know!

🗑️ Any pages posting snow accumulation maps or single model runs this far out as always are garbage! Stay tuned.

🥶⚠️ FRIENDLY REMINDER that a SHARP cold front is set to arrive tonight into Sunday morning. Temperatures behind the front will fall drastically and 35 mph wind gusts will make it feel like 10-15 degrees. A couple of snow showers are possible with the passage of the front Saturday night after 6 pm. No accumulation. Winter can’t decide if it wants to stay or go!
