"SEGA has announced Sonic Frontiers 2 during Gamescom, bringing Sonic back for another major adventure following the direction established by the original Sonic Frontiers.

The first game represented a significant change for 3D Sonic, introducing large open environments that gave players considerably more freedom to explore, fight enemies and approach challenges at their own pace.

A sequel gives SEGA an opportunity to build on that foundation while addressing some of the criticisms directed at the original. Fans will likely be watching for denser environments, improved combat, more varied activities and an even stronger sense of speed across the open areas.

Sonic has experienced a major resurgence across games, movies and other media in recent years, making the next major game an important part of SEGA's plans for the franchise.

If Sonic Frontiers 2 expands everything that worked in the original, it could become one of Sonic's most ambitious games yet.

Sonic Chaos Hunt was LIVE today in New York City! We found the blue chaos emerald! Met up with Sonic & Shadow, met up with awesome friends there! I mean the whole Sonic Community showed up from up and down the east coast!!!
