“Project Waterworth” is 31,000 miles of fiber that will connect the U.S., Brazil, South Africa, India, and Australia to the internet.

Why’s Meta doing this? Well, get this: Meta’s apps represent 22% of the world’s mobile internet traffic. So it’s spending $10B on underwater infrastructure to make sure every last earthling can connect to his Instagram. 😮

This is key: Physical goods face tariffs—digital doesn’t. And with 95% of Meta’s 3B users outside the U.S., this cable ensures Zuck delivers his apps how and where he wants.

The Takeaway: America’s biggest export? Instagram. And these cables are how it happens.
