Kidnappers Demand N100m
Ransom For 58 Persons
Abducted In Southern Kaduna

Armed Bandits, who sacked 10 communites in
Chikun and Birnin Gwari local government
areas of Kaduna State have asked for a
ransom of N100m to free 58 hostages
they had
held since January 6, 2020.
The revelation was
made by Jonathan Asake, President of
Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, when
visited a camp of displaced persons from
the
attack at the uncompleted Community
Secondary School, Unguwan Bije, Gonin Gora.
Habila Sarkin Noma Rumana, a pastor
and
leader of the displaced community, said
the
attackers are well known to the security in the
state and are Fulani. He said, “We have
been
under attack in the past but we always find
ways of surviving them.What we know is
that
the attackers are well armed and are
Fulani.
“They would graze on our crops and
threaten
to kill us if we protest. Sometimes they wo-uld
attack and take captives. We will manage and
pay ransoms. Even after paying,
sometimes
they kill the victims.”But the ones that took
place on January 6, 2020 was the worst.
Hundreds of armed gunmen invaded
about 10
of our villages at the same time.
They carried
out deadly attacks and looted our villages.”At
the last count, between 34 to 36 people
were
killed. In fact, 58 people were kidnapped
from
what the kidnappers said. But we still can’t
account for many, they are hiding in the
forest
and bushes.”Rumana said the kidnappers
called to demand N100m in ransom if the
abducted people are to return home alive. He
added, “The kidnappers have called. They say
we must produce N100m as ransom if we want
to have them alive. I don’t know how they
expect us to raise that money.”They stole our
cattle, looted our valuables, stole and
burnt
our grains. We escaped by the grace of
God.”President of SOKAPU called on the
Nigerian Government to urgently save the
people of Southern Kaduna from the
attacks he
said were deliberate. He also called on the
international community and non-governmental
organisations to assist with aid.

2023 Presidency: Tinubu Should Give Southeast A Chance: Edwin Clark

Chief Edwin Clark, Ijaw leader and elder statesman on Sunday said leaders of the Southwest should stop wanting to become president and give the Southeast a chance of anointing a president from the region.

According to Clark, there is nothing the All Progressive Congress (APC) leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu can offer that the South-East can’t, so they(southwest leaders) should stop thinking of becoming president.

Chief Clark said this in an interview with Vanguard, urging the South West to give the South-East the opportunity to rule the nation.

“They should stop thinking of becoming the President of Nigeria.

“What does Tinubu have to offer that the people of the South-East cannot offer? What is the justification for them to become the President of Nigeria? Is it because they belong to the APC?

“They should not be thinking of how to divide Nigeria. We must all unite and have respect for ourselves. The South-West should allow other people to have a taste of power.

“There is no way the South-West would be better than the South-East on the 2023 presidency.”

“There is no politician better than the Igbo [South East] politician.

“The Sardauna of Sokoto and Premier of the Northern Nigeria, Alhaji Ahmadu Bello, played politics together with his Igbo counterparts.

“The Mbadiwes and Aja Nwanchukus were easterners who played leading roles in the development of this country. What of Nnamdi Azikiwe?

“Nigeria has qualified people from every region, every state. To say they have not played politics well is unacceptable. Is it because they [the South East] fought the civil war they believed in?”

Once upon a time an old man spread rumors that his neighbor was a thief. As a result, the young man was arrested. Days later the young man was proven innocent. After been released he sued the old man for wrongly accusing him.

In court the old man told the Judge : "They were just comments, didn't harm anyone."

The judge, before passing sentence on the case, told the old man : "Write all the things you said about him on a piece of paper. Cut them up and on the way home, throw the pieces of paper out. Tomorrow, come back to hear the sentence."

The next day, the judge told the old man : "Before receiving the sentence, you will have to go out and gather all the pieces of paper that you threw out yesterday."

The old man said : "I can't do that ! The wind spread them and I won't know where to find them."

The judge then replied : "The same way, simple comments may destroy the honor of a man to such an extent that one is not able to fix it."

MORAL
If you can't speak well of someone, rather don't say anything. Let's all be masters of our mouths, so that we won't be slaves of our words.
