Starting Blocks Preschool is officially moved into its new building near 41st Drive and Opportunity Way in the Anthem Commerce Park. The Christian-centered school now has double the space, and a pretty cool indoor/outdoor play space to serve the growing area. See story here:

A land auction has been scheduled for Jan. 7 with Arizona State Land Department for 903 acres just south of Loop 303 on the west side of I-17. TSMC hopes to be the winning bidder, but Phoenix City Council must first approve rezoning on the land. The proposal is slated to go before City Council on Dec. 17. While exact plans have not been outlined for the acreage, a TSMC spokesperson told Valley Vibe the company wishes to further its investment in the Valley with 3 additional chip fabs, 2 advanced packaging facilities and a research and development center.

The public is invited to weigh in at Thursday's North Gateway Village Planning Meeting! Pulte Homes and TSMC are seeking rezoning approval from City of Phoenix on the NorthPark master-planned development proposal west of I-17, just south of Loop 303. TSMC will seek a separate land auction in January for 900 acres within the development for its expansion plans, including more chip fabs, advanced packaging facilities and a research and development center.

DVUSD is asking for voter support of a Maintenance & Operations Override in the November election to support programming, protect and retain teachers and keep class sizes low. Read more at the link below before you cast your ballot. The district has a second question on the ballot, too, which requires voter permission for it to sell an unneeded parcel of land and set those funds aside for future school construction and/or renovations to existing schools.

REMINDER: MEETING TONIGHT! For the past year, attorneys for Pulte Homes have been working closely with the Arizona State Land Department and the City of Phoenix regarding the proposed master-planned community known as NorthPark. A neighborhood meeting is planned tonight, Monday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. at Goelet A.C. Beuf Community Center, 3435 W. Pinnacle Peak Road to provide updates to the community. The North Gateway Village Planning Committee, an advisory committee to the City of Phoenix, will hear the proposal for the first time on Thursday, Oct. 9 also at the Beuf Community Center at 6 p.m. Both meetings are open to the public. Project plans were first unveiled in November 2024 (See article below.) The property is currently zoned S-1, allowing for 1 dwelling per acre, however the proposal is to allow 3 units per acre which would allow for up to 19,247 dwelling units. Resident concerns are traffic impacts from a community of that magnitude and the extensions of 51st Avenue and 67th Avenue and its affect on the Stetson Valley community which lies just to the south of the CAP canal. Currently, the only access point for Stetson Valley residents lies off Happy Valley Road. The extension of 51st and 67th Avenues have always been an existing part of the City’s zoning map.
