My 25th Platinum goes to God of War Ragnarök, and what a ride this was.
The story alone was powerful, but that ending twist? Absolutely insane. The narrative kept building and building, and by the final act it delivered something I didn’t fully see coming. It felt deeper and more emotional compared to God of War 4, and the stakes were on another level.
Gameplay-wise, I honestly felt like they amped up the difficulty. Playing on normal didn’t feel “normal” at all, at times it gave me Soulslike vibes with how punishing and precise some fights demanded you to be. It wasn’t just button-mashing; it was positioning, timing, pattern recognition, and patience.
The two battles that truly tested me were Gná and King Hrolf Kraki.
Gná was brutal. I was level 7 with level 6–7 gear (underlevel atm), and it took me around 15 tries to finally bring her down. Every attempt felt like a lesson. I just wonder how many would it take if my lvl was 8-9 which is the recommended level to beat her.
King Hrolf Kraki was no joke either. Level 8 across the board with level 8–9 gear, and it still took me 4 solid tries to win.
For the record, I never watch walkthroughs or guides when fighting bosses. I rely on my own judgment, analysis, and adaptability. For me, that’s where the real exhilaration comes from, learning patterns, refining strategy, and earning the victory through pure persistence.
This Platinum wasn’t just about completion, it was about mastery. 😁
