Social media is about building relationships and that is also what the algorithm dials in to. So how do you build an authentic relationship with your target audience? By following these steps:

1. Follow their account. And don't just follow their account until they follow back, and then unfollow them. FOLLOW THEIR ACCOUNT.

2. Like their posts. Like the posts that resonate with you, that you see value in. Be genuine. Don't just blanket like all their posts in one go. It negatively impacts your visibility as well as theirs if you do.

3. Comment on their posts and stories. And again be genuine. Comment about an aspect of the post that resonated if you. Confused about something, ask them a question? I love getting asked questions like "What did you mean when you said [insert phrase here]?" or "How would I go about doing [blank]?" Because at the end of the day, I love helping my audience.

4. Share their posts. Did one of their posts really resonate with you or touch on something that you've talked about on your account? Share it in your story. Have a friend that you know is struggling with something that the post covers or would they would find the post interesting? Share it. Tag them in the comments with a short comment or send it to their DMs.

One of my favourite questions to ask all my prospective clients in our first meeting together is "So what strategies have you been using in the past to announce your launch/event?" You'd be surprised by the number of confused looks I get.

Many are surprised to find out that most of the work for a successful launch happens months before the actual launch. It starts with building authentic relationships with your audience. Because if your audience doesn't have a connection with you, they are not going to easily part with their hard-earned money.

Next is the lead-up to the launch. How much notice are you giving your audience of your upcoming event? Day of the launch, a week in advance? It's important to build excitement & buzz surrounding your launch. You want to make your audience just as excited as you are, so let them join in the excitement early.

Then there's the campaign itself. After that initial post, how often do you post about it? People need time to think about spending money, especially when they are investing in themselves. My coaches know all too well the struggle of watching potential clients buy the latest iPhone, but then they struggle over spending $60/month on self-improvement. Often the first day of the launch isn't going your busiest, & with how noisy social media feeds can be, they often forget about your launch until after the campaign is over. This is why it's important to consistently post varying launch content throughout the entire campaign to stay present in their mind.

Some people are worried about annoying their audience by posting every day. If they are annoyed by your strategy, they aren't your target audience. If they are annoyed, they will simply unfollow. Or as I like to say, "They are cleaning up your followers' list for you."

Now the key is to have a strategy for your launch otherwise your audience will be left in the dark, or you will annoy your target audience. That's where I come in. So drop me a message TODAY to set up your 1:1 strategy session so you can have the launch that you've been dreaming of.

People often confuse the roles of a social media manager and a social media strategist. And often business owners feel that if you have a social media manager on staff or retainer, why would they need a strategist? This is a valid question. As someone who has worked in both roles, there are a few key differences between the two.

1. Social media strategists generally aren't on retainer. We don't engage in much of the day-to-day activities that social media managers do, such as creating and posting daily content, and audience engagement in the comments, stories, and messages. SM strategists are brought in for a product/service launch, event or other strategic initiatives. We may create the launch ad content that the social media manager tacks at the end of their daily post, and we often take over the Stories for the duration of the launch campaign. But once the campaign is over, or we have fulfilled the strategic goal, we hand the reins back over to you and your social media manager, until you call us for your next launch or audience-building & optimization session.

2. When we create our launch campaign content, we don't just send you a file full of IG story slides and call it a day. All our campaigns have well-thought-out strategies that not only optimize the advertisement of your launch or event but progressively builds audience excitement leading up to and during your campaign.

3. Done-for-you content isn't our only focus or even our main focus. It's strategy. We are confident that your social media manager is doing an amazing job. Very rarely do our strategies have an impact on what your social media manager is doing (unless you ask us). If anything, we are here to try and help them out or make their jobs easier. Content creation and handling audience engagement is a full-time role in itself. There isn't much time left for authentic audience building or audience optimization, that's where we step in. And if campaigns are done well, audience engagement should be through the roof, so your social media manager will be busy answering questions and directing customers to your POS, while we strategists are continuing to help build the hype.

As a former social media manager, I have the utmost respect for what an sm manager does in their very full day. I remember the stress of being told of an upcoming course launch and being asked if that could be added on top of my already very full plate. Or being asked to hit X amount followers by the end of the month, while still maintaining my day-to-day tasks. There were never enough hours in a day, even when I batched and did everything I could to save time, something always fell by the wayside. That's why I love being a strategist, I'm not only here to help out your business, I'm here to keep your social media manager from ripping their hair out and asking the clock to add another 4 hours to their day. I am not here to replace your sm manager, but to allow them to continue business as usual during the busy campaigns or social media initiatives.

Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Your lack of proofreading makes you look unprofessional and is seriously making your audience question if they want to work or do business with you because if you don't care about typos, you don't care about other things, such as product flaws or accurately conveying information.

Now I'm not talking about missing a comma here or there or even using slang. I am talking about mistakes that alter the entire meaning of what you are saying, errors that would be immediately flagged with a simple spell check. I am talking about careless mistakes. And these are hurting your credibility with your audience and even whether they interact with your content or not.

Your target audience is actively being bombarded with content 24/7/365. And it's exhausting. What's even more exhausting is having to actively put in an effort to interpret what is said or meant by a specific piece of content. Why do you think reels are super popular: It’s easier for the viewer to absorb the content of a video than read something. When a post is full of typos, they will keep scrolling.

If you want to boost your visibility with your target audience and actually make them stick around, proofread your content before you hit post. And it’s never been easier, especially with apps such as Grammarly, which is not sponsoring this post, but which I use every single time I type anything. Even the free edition is more than adequate for editing your social media content. They’ve even made add-ons for most web browsers, it will review what you type as you type it.

So in all seriousness, please please please from the bottom of my heart, proofread your content, as an audience member of your content, I am tired of doing your work for you.

Today marks Zero Inbox Day, and if you're anything like me your inbox/inboxes are stuffed to the brim with subscription emails. Surprisingly, important emails are rarely lost in the chaos of my inboxes, but it's only a matter of ti,e. So, I am now saying enough is enough. I am issuing this challenge today, if you haven't read their emails in the last 6 months, hit unsubscribe. A cluttered inbox only creates undue stress for your business and personal life. By having a well-organized inbox, you lessen the chances of those important emails disappearing amongst all those other emails that you're just going to ignore until you hit delete.

It is my goal today, to eliminate the notification for 12,102 unread emails by the end of the day. Stay tuned to my story feed as I tackle this Herculean task.
Let me know in the comments below, how many unread emails are sitting in your inbox? Come on tell the truth 😜

I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to Susan, who is half of the creative minds behind Twin Willows Glass Arts (although I'm sure Glenn will say she is at least 75%). Hopefully, you manage to make some time away from the glass studio and art gallery today.

Twin Willows Glass Arts is run by a couple who specialize in a stained-glass artwork. Susan specializes in fractured glass mosaics, glass kiln pieces, as well as gorgeous glass jewelry. Glenn specializes in soldered stain glass, from small ornaments to large custom panels and windows. I have had the pleasure of working on Twin Willows Glass Arts's social media now for almost 5 years now (Maybe one of these days, I can convince them to make the jump to Instagram).

Twin Willows Glass Arts is located in the Nicola Valley, BC. However, their pieces have been shipped and displayed across Canada. They will be attending some of the Christmas craft fairs that will be happening in and around Merritt, but in the meantime, you can check out your page: Twin Willows Glass Arts, or stop by one of the following locations that sell their work:
- Point No Point Resort Ltd in Shirley, BC
- Free Spirit Gallery in Clinton, BC
- Miss Vicki's Petals and Plants Flower Shop in Merritt, BC
- Nicola Valley Arts Gallery in Merritt, BC

I love working with my coaching clients, but I have a special place in my heart for my makers, creators & artisans. It may have something to do with the fact that my start as an entrepreneur was crafting. And anyone who has done the Christmas Craft Fair gauntlet knows, October gets crazy. So much work goes into coordinating which fairs you will attend, making the inventory, deciding on new concepts & deciding which favourites to bring back, plus for many, going to their full-time employment & maintaining a bit of a social life so that people don't think you're a hermit.

This is usually the time of year that makers have a hard time balancing their social media on top of their work. Usually, social media takes a back seat to the "money-making" activities of the business. However, this is a HUGE mistake. If your activity on social media drops off, the Algorithm will stop prioritizing you to your target audience. So when you finally post to advertise what craft fairs you will be attending, your visibility will be a fraction of what it was before your hiatus. And if people don't know where you will be, that won't show up, impacting your sales.

Now, you're probably saying "Natasha, I have too much on my plate. I don't have time to make content." To which, I say, "You're already making content. You just aren't documenting it." Film your process. Take pictures of your workspace. Film picking up supplies. Have a poll asking your audience what their last year's favourites were. Your audience understands that you are busy, they just want to feel a part of it.

If you're still struggling with your content for this busy time of year, I have a few spots left for customized content strategies for your business, & for my makers, this takes into account each craft fair you have scheduled, plus so much more. Be sure to message me today, to claim one of these spots.

Starting tomorrow, it is October 1st. Which means a whole new month of holidays and important dates.

Be sure to save this post so you can reference it throughout the month of October; whether you're needing inspiration for content ideas or to see what may be going on in your audience's lives (because it can be pretty easy to forget how much of a global and diverse community social media truly is). You'd be surprised how many people don't realize that Canada and the United States don't have Thanksgiving on the same day, let alone in the same month.

Let us know in the comments below if I missed an important date.

With the latest update to the Instagram algorithm, content creators and social media managers have been scrambling to get their audience engagement and visibility back to pre-Summer numbers. However, it's essential to do your research before you jump on any bandwagon. Because although some have experienced some success by implementing these small changes (in this case, reformatting to 4:5), it doesn't make it a one-size-fits-all solution. Especially when you haven't laid the proper foundation with your audience and content.

Will you be ditching the 1:1 content format in favour of 4:5, or will be sticking with the old faithful 1:1? Let me know in the comments below 😀

Are you still struggling with the Instagram algorithm, I can help. Send me a DM today with your questions.

Today, we are diving into the age-old debate: to batch or not to batch your content.

There has been this big push among social media managers that you MUST batch your content. But I always encourage my clients to weigh the pros and cons of batching vs. daily content creation.

Batching is a big upfront ⏱ investment. Depending on how far into the future you are planning on creating content, it could be a whole workday or week. That being said it frees up the days that you have content planned for to spend it doing other business-related activities.

Batching forces you to come up with several content ideas all at once. You can't let inspiration drive your content which some content creators could argue that that makes their content appear more authentic. (If coming up with content ideas while batching is one of your struggle points, we can help 😉 We create custom content plans).

Also, batching allows you to get a rhythm going. For some content creators, getting a rhythm going with content creation is a real struggle & that is why consistently posting is a pain point for them. It's easy to say, "Oh I'll do it later," & before too long you have gone weeks & months without creating content & your target audience begins to wonder where you went. But if creating content isn't a struggle point, you may opt for the one-and-done approach of creating content daily.

For most of my clients, I usually recommend a hybrid of batching & daily posts. Batch the content that is timely: Attending an event? - plan your posts letting your audience you'll be there in advance, Planning a sale/launch event? - batch it in advance. That way you can still allow for daily inspiration, but when you are really going to be busy with your business, your content is already taken care of.

Any business that relies on sales as their main source of revenue knows, as of this coming Saturday, we are entering the busiest quarter of the year 💰 Sales volumes skyrocket 🚀 & it is no coincidence that they do. This quarter, we have Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas shopping, Super Saturday, Boxing Day & New Years' Eve which all result in more purchases than any other time of the year. 💸🛍💸

Not only that but for my makers & artisans, we will be entering Christmas Craft Fair season 🎄❄️⛄️🎁 where many of you can make your entire year's revenue & greatly expand your local audience.

For my coaches, this is also the time of year many people self-reflect & want to make changes, whether it is for their fitness & health 💪🩺 change of career direction 📂 improve their business 💼 improve mental health & mindset 🧘 win a competition 🏆 the list goes on and on. If there's a change to be made, your target audience is contemplating making it this time of year.

So, let me ask you, what is your social media strategy going into Q4? Or are you planning on carrying on business as usual? If you want to experience a swell in sales, you're going to need a strategy to even be seen this time of year as large businesses & corporations dump their entire ad budget on social media outreach & advertisements. Those that plan to operate under the business-as-usual strategy will be drowned out well into the New Year.

Now, you may not have the ad budget of Amazon, but Amazon doesn’t have me in their corner. I love this time of year as a Social Media Strategist because this is when my campaigns & strategies even get my under 5,000 follower clients their 6-figure launches & sales. Whether you are a maker or a coach or anything in between, send me a message today so we can create a made-for-your-business social media strategy that not only will get you seen, but also grow your followers' list & gets you one step closer to achieving your 6-figure launch/sales event.

Content creators are constantly trying to "hack" the Algorithm 🧑‍💻 Whether it is to get more views, get more followers, or for their content to be shown to their target audience. There are whole courses dedicated to "hacking" the Algorithm.

However, it is important to remember at the end of the day, the Algorithm is just a string of code 💻 It will put out based on what you have put into it. Ever notice that you watch a couple of videos of dogs doing silly things, and now that's all your feed shows you for the rest of the week 🐶 That's because you gave it the data that you like watching those videos. The same goes for who it recommends to you and who your account is recommended to.

If you follow creators that do what you do, that is all that will be recommended to you, and that's who your content will be shown to. In order to "hack" the algorithm and be put in front of your target audience, you need to follow your target audience and follow who they follow (provided they don't offer the same services as you).

If you have been guilty of following the competition in the past, don't feel bad, it even happens in the Social Media Management/Strategist sphere (just peek at my followers' list) 🙊 I can help you redirect the Algorithm. DM me today to book in for a Following/Followers Lists Audit.

My clients always ask me what my golden number 1 rule is for creating content that sells, and to which I say: Create content that gives value to your target audience.

You don't have to give away all your secrets but if your content doesn't give your target audience anything of value, they won't follow and they won't pay for your services.

Examples of content that add value can include:
💡Advice
💡Tips & Tricks
💡Introducing Yourself
💡Showing Your Process
💡 Showing Past Work
💡 Client Testimonials

If your target audience can take something away from the content that you are putting out, then succeeded in creating valuable content.

Still need help generating content that provides value to your audience, be sure to send me a DM to book your complimentary think tank session with me today.

Many businesses and content creators struggle with consistently generating on-brand content. Following a template or formula can be a great solution to this and helps keep your feed looking cohesive. Consistency is key in winning over your audience, not just in your posting schedule, but in the types of content you deliver.
If you are looking for content ideas personalized for your business or on-brand, custom-made posting templates, send me a DM, not only do we create custom 30-day, 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month content idea packages, we create content templates that are just as unique as your brand.

If you are pitching before knowing the pain points of the potential client you're talking to, you deserve to be ghosted. 👻
This one is directly from the Inbox. Now, this may be a bot 🤖, a scam, a paid inbox marketer, or it may be the individual whose company will remain nameless. But there is so much wrong with this that I decided to turn this into a Sales Pitch Audit. So let's dive into it!
1️⃣ Her pitch doesn't match her profile. There is nothing wrong with having multiple streams of revenue in varying fields, in fact, it's smart to have a diversified income stream. But there is absolutely no mention of crypto or stock trading in her profile or content. Make sure what you pitch is in your profile and that you make content regarding it.
2️⃣ Not once is the conversation personal and not once am I addressed by my name. It is cold and very scripted. Clients and customers pay for you because they feel connected to you. So use their name and find some commonalities between you both.
3️⃣ Don't continue to barrel through the conversation when the potential client pumps the brakes. Now there is a difference between hesitancy during a pitch that has a well-laid-out foundation to a client that has been properly vetted and a potential client going "Hey, wait a minute. Do you even know who you are talking to?"
4️⃣ She did not vet me to see if I would be a good potential client. She didn't ask if I was looking to have another stream of revenue. She didn't ask about my pain points that could segway into her pitch, e.g. looking to make more money, looking to diversify my income stream, etc. And worst of all, she didn't see if I had the ability to do and have some success at what she was pitching. She was in it for the quick 💲💲💲 This is a disgusting marketing tactic, as I, and most reputable coaches and service providers, will not pitch to someone if I do not see them reaping a benefit from the services.
This is why bots and most paid inbox marketers don't work, you are paying them for the quantity of messages sent out, not the quality. This is also why following an exact sales pitch script doesn't work. And that is why I am big on having a sales pitch METHOD for your business.
Do you need your inbox marketing strategy overhauled? That's what I am here for. Message me today and I'll help you get your sales pitch back on track.

One of my favourite exercises that I do with my clients is fine-tuning their target audience. Because without that well-fleshed-out target audience persona, it's going to be just that much harder to build a following that translates into sales.
When I initially ask my clients, "What is your target audience?" I get answers such as, "Someone who needs product X." or "Someone who likes homemade goods." or "Someone who wants to accomplishment Z." Now this is a great place to start, but very quickly my clients have found that they hit the brick wall of "Where are they?" and "Why aren't they following me?" And to that I say, you need to get specific and know these Key 5 Things:
1️⃣ The Basics
2️⃣ Their Interests
3️⃣ Their Current Situation (As It Pertains To Your Product or Service)
4️⃣ The Deeper Things
5️⃣ Their Dreams
When you start to create a more complete picture of your target audience, they become an actual person in your mind, such as:
“Sally, who is a 32-year-old paralegal that enjoys self-development podcasts and grabbing the occasional macchiato from her local coffee shop. ☕️When looking for a personal trainer, she wants to feel empowered and not restricted so she can continue to enjoy her twice weekly java fix.” 🤸‍♀️
So now as the personal trainer that you are, you now have multiple places to start looking for your ideal client that doesn’t involve pulling from other personal trainers’ followers' lists.
If this sounds like something that you need, drop me a message to book your complimentary Target Audience Tune-Up Session and I will give you my Target Audience Worksheet for ✨FREE✨
