"They ruined his Aura by showing him crying," Solo Leveling newest episode received its most disliked episode till now 🙄
It turns out this episode has accumulated over 2,000 dislikes on Crunchyroll, and one of the main reasons is a particular scene where Jin-Woo, the protagonist, shows vulnerability by crying in front of his mother after healing her.
Some viewers feel that this moment disrupts the strong, untouchable aura he has maintained since the start of the series.
Personally, I see it differently. Jin-Woo has always been portrayed as a stoic, composed individual who rarely expresses emotion. However, I find it deeply moving that the one person capable of breaking down his walls is his mother. This scene serves as a reminder that, at the end of the day, he is still human. A mother’s love has the power to bring out a side of him that no one else can.
What stood out to me is that many of the negative reactions seem to come from viewers who are primarily drawn to the action and the overwhelming presence Jin-Woo exudes. But does shedding tears in his mother’s arms really take away from his strength as a character? That’s something worth reflecting on.
This moment also reminds me of the backlash Attack on Titan faced toward the end when Eren allowed himself to express raw emotion. Some fans felt that it undermined his character, but I completely disagree. In reality, it reinforced the idea that, like Jin-Woo, Eren was not just a warrior but a human being with both strengths and weaknesses. For me, that made his character even more compelling.
