An employee at the Amazon facility in Stafford returned to find three of the four tires on his vehicle had been slashed. Deputy C.R. Newman responded to the scene.

Authorities are investigating the incident as vandalism and are encouraging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity near the parking lot to contact the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Attempted Vehicle Theft Reported at Learning Paths Academy

Man Arrested for Public Intoxication and Trespassing at Chipotle in Stafford

A man exhibiting erratic behavior was taken into custody outside Chipotle on South Gateway Drive after concerned citizens reported him rolling around on the ground.

Deputy M.N. Sayegh responded to the disturbance and immediately observed signs of intoxication. The suspect, who also had face tattoos, was recognized from a trespassing incident handled by the same deputy earlier that day. He was charged with public intoxication and trespassing and is currently being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Bank Scam Defrauds Resident in Courthouse Road Incident

A Stafford resident fell victim to a sophisticated phone scam that spoofed a legitimate bank’s phone number. The victim received a call claiming there was suspicious activity on her bank account and was advised to move funds to a “temporary card” for protection.

After gaining access to the temporary card, the scammer abruptly ended the call. Deputy C.M. Hidalgo is handling the case. Authorities urge residents to verify unusual banking requests directly with their financial institution and never share card information over the phone.

Fight Over Canteen Leads to Charges at Rappahannock Regional Jail

Driver Dies by Su***de During Fredericksburg Traffic Stop, Crashes into Home Depot
A late-night traffic stop in Fredericksburg took a tragic turn last Wednesday, when a driver died by su***de moments before a Fredericksburg police officer approached the vehicle.

According to a statement released by the Fredericksburg Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. on September 17 in the parking lot of Home Depot. As the officer walked toward the vehicle, the driver suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The car then rolled forward, picking up speed before slamming into the Home Depot building.

First responders immediately attempted lifesaving measures on the scene. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Police confirmed that body-worn camera footage shows the driver shot themselves before the officer made any contact. No officers were injured in the incident. The driver’s identity has not been released, but next of kin have been notified.

The department offered condolences to the driver’s family and loved ones.

This is an ongoing investigation.
