Man Arrested After Disturbance at Washington Square Plaza
Location: 91 Washington Square Plaza, Stafford VA

Time: September 22, 7:46 p.m.

A Stafford man was arrested for public intoxication after a deputy responded to a disturbance near Cato Fashions at Washington Square Plaza.

Deputy Jensen responded after receiving information that a man was asking inappropriate questions and was possibly intoxicated.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect showed signs of impairment when contacted, including slurred speech, an unsteady balance and the odor of alcohol on his breath.

The suspect was identified as Johnny Blue, 26, of Stafford. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.

Credit Card Scam Reported on Culpepper Street
Location: Culpepper Street, Stafford VA

Time: September 22, 4:43 p.m.

A Stafford County resident avoided a financial loss after becoming the target of a credit card scam involving someone claiming to be associated with Discover.

Deputy L. Smith responded to Culpepper Street after the victim reported receiving a suspicious call while attempting to purchase an item.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the callers claimed there was fraudulent activity on the victim’s account and instructed the victim to provide credit card information. After doing so, the victim discovered unauthorized charges on their bank account.

The victim contacted their bank, which blocked the charges and canceled the cards. No monetary loss had been reported at the time the incident was documented.

Man Arrested After Disturbance at Stafford County Courthouse
Location: 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford VA

Time: September 21, 2:32 p.m.

A Fredericksburg man was arrested after deputies responded to a disturbance at the Stafford County Courthouse.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Pettegrue responded after the suspect was observed yelling obscenities inside the courthouse and failing to follow police directions.

The suspect was arrested and allegedly attempted to resist while being detained, resulting in an additional charge. Once inside a patrol vehicle, he also allegedly attempted to damage the vehicle’s rear window.

The suspect was identified as Christopher Beckner Jr., 29, of Fredericksburg. He was charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice and was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Altered Check Reported on Gardenia Drive
Location: Gardenia Drive, Stafford VA

Time: September 21, 10:15 a.m.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fraud report involving a check that was allegedly altered and cashed after being mailed.

Deputy Pitts responded to Gardenia Drive after the victim reported mailing a check as payment. The intended recipient never received it.

The victim later reviewed their account and discovered that the check had been altered and cashed. The victim contacted their bank, which requested a police report as part of its investigation.

Man Arrested After Disturbance at Warrenton Road Hotel

Time: September 21, 9:19 a.m.

A Fredericksburg man was arrested for public intoxication after deputies responded to a disturbance near America’s Best Value Inn on Warrenton Road.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Oloye responded after receiving information that an intoxicated man had threatened other guests.

When the deputy made contact with the suspect, he reportedly showed signs of impairment, including slurred speech, an unsteady balance and the odor of alcohol on his breath. Deputies also found opened alcoholic beverages on him.

The suspect was identified as Michael Drozdowicz, 48, of Fredericksburg. He was arrested and charged with public intoxication.

Public Intoxication Arrest Made on Plantation Drive
Location: Plantation Drive, Stafford VA

Time: September 20, 10:08 p.m.

A 31-year-old Fredericksburg man was arrested after a Stafford County deputy reportedly observed him stumbling in the roadway on Plantation Drive while holding an alcoholic beverage.

Deputy Sayegh approached the man to check on him and observed signs of impairment, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Those signs reportedly included an odor of alcohol coming from his breath, an unsteady balance and slurred speech.

The man was identified as Vernon Regins, 31, of Fredericksburg. Regins was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.

Stafford Man Arrested Following Driving Incident on Richmond Highway
Location: Richmond Highway and Hospital Center Boulevard, Stafford VA

Time: September 20, 2:32 a.m.

A 19-year-old Stafford man was arrested following an incident that authorities said involved aggressive driving and an attempt to strike another vehicle.

Deputy Edwards responded to an auto accident near Richmond Highway and Hospital Center Boulevard after receiving information that a driver had been operating a vehicle recklessly before the crash.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect claimed the victim had been following him, prompting him to turn around and begin following the victim. The suspect also reportedly admitted to driving toward the victim’s vehicle.

The victim told authorities the suspect had been driving erratically, leading the victim to notify law enforcement about a possible drunk driver.

After speaking with both parties, authorities determined that the suspect drove on the wrong side of the road in an attempt to strike the victim before later rear-ending the victim at the intersection of Courthouse Road and Wyche Road.

The suspect was identified as Joshua Daniels, 19, of Stafford. Daniels was charged with simple assault and battery and aggressive driving. He was released on an unsecured bond.

DUI Arrest Made on Brentham Farm Drive and Kings Highway
Location: Brentham Farm Drive and Kings Highway, Stafford VA

Time: September 19, 2:43 a.m.

A 25-year-old Woodbridge driver was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic stop at Brentham Farm Drive and Kings Highway.

Deputy Daigle observed a vehicle being driven without its taillights activated and conducted a traffic stop. During the encounter, the driver reportedly displayed signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol coming from their breath.

The driver admitted to consuming alcohol earlier that day. Field sobriety tests were administered, and a breath sample was received before the driver was arrested.

At the Sheriff’s Office, authorities said the driver refused to provide a breath or blood sample, resulting in an additional charge.

The driver was identified as Yririan Hernandez-Ayala, 25, of Woodbridge. Hernandez-Ayala was charged with driving under the influence and refusal to test.

Falmouth Woman Arrested Following Traffic Stop on Blue and Gray Parkway
Location: Blue and Gray Parkway and Kings Highway, Stafford VA

Time: September 18, 11:01 p.m.

A traffic stop at Blue and Gray Parkway and Kings Highway resulted in the arrest of a 54-year-old Falmouth woman and the discovery of narcotics, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Waheed observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and conducted a traffic stop. An initial investigation determined that the driver had a revoked license and that the vehicle was uninsured and unregistered. Authorities also confirmed the driver was wanted in Fredericksburg.

The driver was arrested, and a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of several narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Authorities reported that additional narcotics were found on the driver’s person at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

The driver was identified as Kathryn Howell, 54, of Falmouth. Howell was charged with possession of Schedule I or II controlled substances, driving after forfeiture of a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance, possession of controlled paraphernalia, a traffic lane violation and prisoner in possession of an unlawful chemical compound. She was also served with her outstanding warrants.

Howell was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Driver Arrested After Traffic Stop at Tamar Creek Lane and Richmond Highway
Location: Tamar Creek Lane and Richmond Highway, Stafford VA

Time: September 18, 8:34 p.m.

A 50-year-old Stafford man was arrested after a traffic stop at Tamar Creek Lane and Richmond Highway led to the discovery of a concealed firearm.

Deputy Copeland observed a vehicle with an expired registration and conducted a traffic stop. During the encounter, the driver reportedly admitted to having a firearm without a concealed carry permit.

The firearm was located inside a concealed carry holster, and an initial investigation confirmed that the driver did not have a concealed carry permit.

The driver was identified as Robert Walker, 50, of Stafford. Walker was charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and driving with an expired registration.

Walker was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
