Volunteer Call: Tire Removal at Sterling Nature Center

We’re looking for volunteers to help with tire removal near McIntyre Bluffs at the Sterling Nature Center. Old tires have been found in the area, and we need help getting them out.

Dates: May 29 and 30
Time: 9:00 AM
Meeting Location: Parking lot off McIntyre Road

This is a hands-on cleanup effort. If you’re able to help, even for a few hours, it will make a real difference.

Please wear sturdy shoes and bring work gloves if you have them.

ARREST RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Subject: Jeffery N. Dixon – Fleming, NY
Location: Willow Brook Rd and State Route 34, Town of Fleming

Sheriff Brian Schenck reports that on May 23, 2026, at 1:13 AM, deputies arrested Jeffery N. Dixon, age 54, of Fleming, NY, for DWI-1st Offense (A Misdemeanor), DWI: Per Se- No prior, and other VTL violations. The information gathered during the following investigation established probable cause for the arrest.

On May 2, at approximately 1:13 am, a Cayuga County Sheriff’s Deputy was on patrol when he observed a vehicle traveling southbound on State Route 34 in the Town of Fleming. The deputy observed the vehicle to be speeding, traveling at 75 mph in a posted 55 mph zone, and passing another vehicle in a no-passing zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Willow Brook Rd near State Route 34. The vehicle was being operated by Jeffery N. Dixon, and upon further investigation, the deputy placed him in custody for DWI. Dixon was transported to the Sheriff’s Office, where he provided a breath sample of 0.16% BAC and was charged with DWI 1st offense and DWI: Per Se- No prior due to his BAC level. Dixon was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Fleming Court on June 9th at 4:30 pm.
