More than just a fusion of diverse influences, the collective Der Märtyrer first emerged aeons ago – birthed from a trance-like state induced by drugs, sleep-deprived experimentation with unconventional textures, and a relentless pursuit of harsh dissonance capable of invoking both ancient and modern evils. The original intent was to expand upon the sonic universe unveiled by acts such as Mysticum and Blacklodge, and to push further by drawing inspiration from The Prodigy, Combichrist, Antaeus, Atari Teenage Riot, In Slaughter Natives, Aphex Twin, and many more...

Over the years, four anthems were crafted – shaped, distorted, deconstructed, and reborn – through unorthodox recording techniques, sound design research, and excessive layering. Each bears the blood of various anonymous artists who contributed to the beast’s evolution. The final manifestation of this creation now reveals itself to the world in ultimate ignominy through End All Life Productions.

It is with delight that we present the inaugural issue of Words as Weapons, wherein you may find interviews of Aethyrick, Aluk Todolo, Angrenost, Vafurlogi, Blackdeath, Drastus, Lucifyre, and Monte Penumbra. Conversations which, perhaps, some amongst you have already perused in their earlier appearance upon our modest web publication.

This printed edition – comprising one hundred and fifty-two pages, committed to Munken Polar Rough stock and bound by an exposed spine sewn with crimson thread – grants these dialogues a permanent abode. The typesetting and design, it bears noting, are the distinguished work of Valnoir.

Furthermore, Words as Weapons #1 is graced with an exclusive Dehn Sora interview. Only the briefest of excerpts have hitherto seen the light of day, as the full exchange – born of eight hours of conversation – spans no less than seventy-five pages. We regard it as a portrait of an artist of uncommon breadth, whose course has oft entwined with that of NoEvDia-affiliated musicians.

In truth, this extended dialogue seeks to peer beneath the surface of creative life – to examine, if such a thing is possible, the very workings by which we come to be what we are. And thus, while the subject remains Dehn Sora – his compositions, his visual art, his temperament – there lies within, perhaps, some universal thread that shall ring true to all who hold a deep and enduring reverence for the arts.

Our most sincere gratitude is extended to all the bands herein featured; the black magic woven into their works serves as a veritable draught of inspiration to kindred spirits.

We’d be remiss not to mention the recent release of Warloghe’s “Logos of All-That-Ends”, of which NoEvDia has secured a few copies.

Everything about this album feels wrong. Its rotting atmosphere emerges as the manifestation of a suffocating, ugly, derelict era. This is not music – it is pure malevolent spirit. Highly recommended.

NoEvDia proudly presents Serpentes' “Desert Psalms”, to be released on April 18, 2025.

Spewed forth by a collective of serpents from the scorching south and sulphurous north of the Old World, “Desert Psalms” is an act of defiance – an offering to the lawless, the unruly, and the bright star rising in the eastern dawn.

A descent beyond the pale. Across its seven abominations, “Desert Psalms” drags the listener into howling darkness, where transgression and purification are one.

This is black metal in its most primal and adversarial form: venomous, unrepentant, seared in the flames of desolation. Both scourge and scripture, “Desert Psalms”, is a baptism in bile and blood, stripping away all pretence until nothing remains but raw nerve and burning truth.

Envisioned by A. Ara of Angrenost, “Desert Psalms” is now manifested with the contribution of Misþyrming members Dagur Gíslason and Magnús Skúlason, Erdsaf of Angrenost, and Ólöf Rún Benediktsdóttir of Svartþoka.

A first glimpse into this vision can be heard via the song premiere on NoEvDia’s YouTube channel. Pre-orders available now from the NoEvDia webshop.

NoEvDia proudly presents: Svartsyn – “Vortex of the Destroyer”

To be released on March 28, pre-orders are live now: www.noevdia.com/artist/svartsyn/

With its tenth full-length album, Svartsyn delivers a work rooted in both its present vision and primordial past. “Vortex of the Destroyer” unfolds in two intertwined chapters: four new compositions alongside six resurrected relics from Chalice, the entity that would become Svartsyn in 1994.

The first half of “Vortex of the Destroyer” embodies a refined yet relentless approach, shaped by instinct and hindsight alike. From the ruin of Atlantis to the flames of Surtr and Fenrir, these songs channel Svartsyn’s pursuit of apocalyptic grandeur – a descent into the abyss.

The latter half harks back to the autumn of 1992, breathing new life into six compositions first forged under the Chalice banner. Conceived at the dawn of the second wave of Black Metal, these tracks honour the band’s origins. Re-recorded with present clarity, their essence remains untouched: wild, sinister, and unmistakably Ornias.

By uniting its earliest fire with its latest incarnation, Svartsyn asserts an unbroken path of black devotion. “Vortex of the Destroyer” is both a return and an advance, where destruction and renewal converge.

Teitanblood – “From the Visceral Abyss”

To be released on March 28, pre-orders are live now.
www.noevdia.com/artist/teitanblood/

Teitanblood returns to claim underground metal’s most lawless frontier. “From the Visceral Abyss” is an all-engulfing tide of unfettered, raging chaos – where black and death metal collapse into a maelstrom of destruction. Its force is neither random nor aimless but guided by an instinct sharpened over decades.

This is Teitanblood at their most unhinged, yet wholly assured in ex*****on. Dissonance and precision collide in monstrous, writhing riffs, underpinned by percussive violence that shifts between merciless blasting and dirge-like weight. Layer upon layer of bile-drenched vocals coil through the cacophony, forging a suffocating atmosphere of grotesque grandeur.

As ever, the album is steeped in the restless spirit of the late Finnish artist Timo Ketola, who stood as both interpreter and architect of Teitanblood’s visual world. Ketola’s oracular visions provided the scripture from which these lyrics emerged – his legacy not merely preserved but carried forth beyond the grave. The tradition of transmuting sound into imagery continues, with Dávid Glomba filling the booklet’s pages with a dense tapestry of illustrations, sigils, and hand-scribed invocations.

The cycle is eternal. The dead shall die again, their bodies will be feasted upon by worms, and the voice of the black earth will proclaim to those who sleep in the dust with the tumultuous clamour of empty graves, overshadowing the clouds.
