Hey all! As some of you know, I'll be traveling to the Democratic National Convention later this month, and while my company does provide a daily stipend, it's not always enough for each day (especially in pricier places like Chicago!).

I've been asked by a few people how they can support my work, and I really don't want anyone digging deep into their pockets for me. But if you INSIST and CAN help, consider doing it through this site called "Buy Me a Coffee." It's for content creators who frequently find themselves working out of coffeehouses (as I likely will be doing during the convention), and allows people to donate in $3 increments, much like the price of a coffee would be.

So if you're feeling generous and want to support my journalism, please do so by just buying me a coffee or two. Even that small amount goes a long way toward supporting my work.

Thank you!

I'm a political news journalist, producing 10-15 articles weekly on national trending topics for Truthout.org. I'm based in Madison, Wisconsin. I'm incredibly thankful to you for donating a coffee to

Pennsylvania Republican lawmakers booed and hissed at former Capitol police officers, who were at the state legislature to be honored for their work. The action is a telling sign of the GOP's continued fealty to Trump, and authoritarian principles in general.

TWO FORMER U.S. CAPITOL POLICE OFFICERS who helped to defend Congress during the January 6, 2021, Trump-inspired attack were invited guests...

My piece on Trump's conviction yesterday. Some key points:

1.) Trump was convicted by a jury of his peers. There's no basis for his claims that this was a "rigged" trial -- his own defense team helped select the jury.

2.) Most Americans (50 percent) agree with the trial's outcome, that Trump is guilty of the crimes he was charged with (39 percent disagree).

3.) Trump promised his loyalists to "FIGHT FOR OUR CONSTITUTION" after the verdict was read -- important to note, this is the same guy who called for that document to be terminated, to reinstate him as president two years after his loss to Biden in 2020.

4.) The sentencing hearing is set for July 11. That could change, if a motion to reschedule is entertained by Justice Juan Merchan. Days after the scheduled sentencing date, Trump is set to formally receive the GOP nomination for president.

Trump’s sentencing is set to commence in July, just days before his nomination at the Republican National Convention.

One of the proposals by Texas Republicans would create an "Electoral College on steroids" system at the state level, giving small counties greater political power and disenfranchising hundreds of thousands of voters in the state's urban areas.

Voters in rural counties would be given expansive voting power, vastly outweighing voters in cities and suburban areas.

The flag, used by many Christian nationalists/Christian dominionists during the attack on the Capitol, was flying above Alito's vacation home last summer. He's set to rule on cases involving Trump and Capitol rioters later *this* summer.

Several critics say the partisan flags in front of Alito's home should result in his recusal from key cases.

Hi All! Thank you for your continued support of my writings. I am transitioning away from this page, and encourage you to follow me on my main profile, which now has "digital creator" status. I post all the same political news, plus some other commentaries, fun memes, etc. Please make the switch, can't wait to see you there!

The appearance of such a charged political symbol in front of a jurist's home is highly unethical, critics have said.
