HK Dismisses APC Ajaka Ward 1’s Undated Letter Denying His Past Membership

The Chairman of Idris HK Foundation, Alhaji Idris Hussein Kashim, popularly known as Idris HK, has rejected a purported letter from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ajaka Ward 1 denying his past membership of the party. In a personal statement released today, Idris HK described the undated document as lacking credibility and unworthy of serious attention, but said he was compelled to respond to prevent the rewriting of history.

He stated, “Our attention has been drawn to a letter purportedly from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ajaka Ward 1, denying my past membership of the party. The said letter carries no date. It was never meant to be taken seriously. Yet, for the sake of truth and to stop the rewriting of history, I am compelled to respond.”

Idris HK emphasised that his response would be sharp and short, relying only on facts. He recounted, “Having joined the APC earlier, in 2015, I, Idris Hussein Kashim, contested the governorship primaries under its platform. The party gave me the expression of interest form. If I was never a member, how was I eligible to contest?”

He further noted, “On 7th January 2026, I completed my APC e-registration, the same digital process the party claims is foolproof and up-to-date. That single record alone proves I was a member until my formal resignation letter was submitted.”

Idris HK accused the party of using denial as a recurring tactic in Kogi State politics. He pointed to the cases of Prince Mustapha Mona Audu, who was disowned by his Ogbonicha Ward in 2021 when he showed governorship ambition, and Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, who faced suspension from Ajaka Ward 1 in 2023 for alleged anti-party activities after challenging the status quo.

He stated, “The pattern is clear: anyone who becomes influential and garners the support of our people or refuses to play errand boy is suddenly declared ‘never a member.’ I have now joined that list because I rejected their offer to remain in the party as a controlled asset without the Senate ticket I sought. They wanted me silent, useful, and used against my own people. I chose dignity instead.”

Idris HK highlighted the recognition he received from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Seyi Tinubu, who appointed him leader of one of the most respected support groups in Kogi State. He affirmed, “I, Idris Hussein Kashim, was, am, and remain a proud member of the APC until the day I formally resigned. No undated letter can erase the records, the e-registration, or the truth the people already know.”

He concluded by reaffirming his focus on service, saying, “The journey to greater Kogi East and Kogi State at large continues.”

I joined Intelligent Group of Schools Rumuokwuta Port Harcourt after I had successfully graduated from Emodu Ogugu community secondary school in Kogi state.

Intelligent College, like we used to call it, is a Secondary school just like my community secondary school where I had finished from, the only difference is that one is situated in the village while the other is a township school. My uncle, Amb Jonas Onoja, in his usual kind gesture had to enroll me in a township school because I needed a brush up. I was half-baked from my previous school and it was salient in my speech and behavior.

There at Intelligent, I met with Chidi. I presumed he was a corper because he was so intelligent and punctual to the class but he told us he was a diploma student in one of the universities and was hoping for a Direct Entry Admission. He was our Literature Master and he mastered everything literature. No one would doubt his admission into degree program because he was even more intelligent than most of the certified teachers.

He used to tell us about campus life, university fantasies, the good, the bad and the ugly on campus. We would stretch our ears, open our 👄mouths and watch him tell us those awesome tales. In our jamb lessons, he would enjoined us to work harder and do our best to be in the University that the experience worths it. We were all wishing to become like him.

Much later, we parted ways. Chidi was too intelligent to be denied admission so we all believed he would get the direct entry and graduate in no time, maybe before we would start our own.

I was offered admission barely two years after I left Intelligent College and it took me 6years more to graduate and get mobilized for National Youth Service Corps. That was quite a very long time but you know that destiny has it ways of manifesting.

One of those days of my National Youth Service, I went to the NYSC camp since it is situated a stone throw away from my PPA at Insit Atai LGA, to check on a friend that was just mobilized with a 3rd Batch after mine and something happened.

My teacher Chidi was one of those in the `all white` on the parade ground. He was just mobilized. I couldn't wait to hear him explain how it happened. What caused his delay and all of that...

We had a confab and all he did say was, `Onoja, thank God I am finally here, the rest is a long story.` Chidi told me about campus life and all the fantasies while he was my teacher in the college but here am I telling Chidi about NYSC life and it's apparent scam. He looked up to me for the way forward...he opened his 👄mouth too and watched me talk about my experience so far in service and the mistakes he must avoid.

So many unforeseen things must have happened along his way, I know Life is simply like that. I made it to higher institution before him and even finished up earlier. But he was same person who taught me in the college.

Who was gonna tell the other about 👪family life? Who was gonna help the other secure job or promotion? Is life really about who gets something first? Must we even compete when we don't know tomorrow and how differently our destinies are designed? I pondered as we parted.

Yesterday I ran into Chidi along Ademola Adetokumbo way, Wuse 2, Abuja after few years of my passing out. He was in a company of certain t**h young men and he has become a big man too. He told me he did his NYSC with Exxo Mobile and was retained. He is married and he owns a Spider Camery.

Here I am yet to get a better job.

No doubt, there is this Cold War among us humans on several frills of life. Little do we knowet that so far life is concerned '... the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.'

Providence has designed some persons to be above us, Maybe permanently or temporarily. It's good we enjoy every stage we find ourselves knowing fully well that our destinies can't be the same.

If not because Nollywood is indigenous, it's one industry we should all ignore.

The face of the Igala woman through whom the entire World would speak Igala as Allen Onyema's Airpeace goes global.

Igala nation is proud of Allen Onyema for decorating one of his Aircraft with an Igala name in honor of his wife who is an Igala and the entire Igala race.

As the world uses Airpeace, we pray that Ojo-ki-chide.

Again, may our Daughters bring us honor.
