The Department of War has released a revised version of its controversial press-credentialing pledge, dramatically scaling back several provisions that drew sharp criticism from journalists, press freedom advocates, and members of Congress.

The Pentagon has dramatically revised its controversial media pledge following weeks of backlash. The update comes as I await records from my FOIA request seeking details on who signed the original pledge.

BREAKING: Two journalists with longstanding Pentagon access have become the first known reporters to publicly reject the Department of War’s new media pledge, telling me they will not sign it, a significant escalation in response to a policy that, until now, had been widely criticized but not openly defied.

Florida teachers have been removed from their classrooms over social media posts about Charlie Kirk.

Meanwhile, educators who bit, hit, or otherwise abused students kept their jobs.

From a July investigation:

Biting, hitting, and even sexual misconduct didn't get teachers fired in the Sunshine State. But using a student's preferred name did.

Always a good day when you find out your work was cited by the paper of record.

Last year, I broke a story about a sheriff’s deputy who was stopped by police while off duty, admitted to drinking, vomited, fell down, and blacked out, but was released without charges and never given a blood alcohol test.

I just discovered that reporting was cited by The Oregonian/OregonLive in their recent article about a $950,000 whistleblower settlement involving the former deputy’s agency.

It’s not always flashy, but investigative work like this matters. And I’m glad it’s being recognized.

I dug through records and disciplinary reports across Florida.

A recent GAO report on fraud and waste that includes two decades of data does not mention diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), or many of the agencies that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has targeted.

The Elon Musk-led agency's priorities clash with reports from the nonpartisan congressional watchdog that has tracked government waste for over a century.

Facebook is under fire for removing shares of a post from the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum.

Today, I reached out to Facebook’s media relations department with questions regarding users' reports that Facebook has been removing their attempts to share a post from the official page of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. The post itself, which remains on the museum’s page, includes a phot...

I just broke a major update in an impactful law enforcement saga, which I was the first to report through this news site.

Jeffrey Keniston, an embattled former police officer, is now barred from working in Oregon.

Investigative journalism is something I will never stop doing. In this case, it's voluntary, but I welcome donations through the site because work like this is not free.

As the editor-in-chief and sole reporter at Discrepancy Report, my dedication to unveiling the truth has led to multiple exclusive stories shared by CNN, the Society of Professional Journalists, and the Columbia Journalism Review.

Collaborations with top public records attorneys affiliated with the ACLU and the National Lawyers Guild have been pivotal in obtaining crucial information, furthering my mission of transparency and accountability.

My reporting on workplace safety has initiated national dialogues with leaders from the Screen Actors Guild and the Society of Professional Journalists, shedding light on the lack of OSHA regulations for multimedia journalists.

Please read this story and consider supporting my work.

Embattled ex-cop Jeffrey Keniston has voluntarily surrendered the certifications that allowed him to work as a law enforcement officer in Oregon. This action concludes the proceedings against him before an administrative law judge could issue a proposed order.
