A tribute to the 19 brave men of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who lost their lives in the Yarnell Hill Fire on June 30, 2013. Watch as we honor their memory and share their story, high lighting their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting others.

I highly recommend to watch "Only the Brave" movie before the hike to learn more about the events leading up to the tragedy, the impact on their families and communities, and the lasting legacy of these Arizona firefighters. It is still wild for me having a holiday off as everyone else!!! I totally forgot how pack it is outside when everyone's off, too!

I thought of floating at Salt River on this Memorial weekend since my original plan going to Florida and visiting a friend got canceled. I'm so glad I didn't because I've seen a bunch of pictures and videos on a group page I follow on how packed and crazy the Salt River was.

This part of the Colorado River was busy, too, but not as much as the Salt River. Our journey along this stunning water led is to the Emerald Cave. There was lots of guided tour but everyone was so nice and respectful! On our way back to Willow Beach, it was a challenge! The strong wind was constantly blowing on the opposite side of our direction. It took us longer to get back. There was a time when I was getting towed by because I was really getting tired of paddling while the wind was constantly pushing me back.

The next day, we went to Oatman to finally see the town of donkeys!!! I think this was my favorite part of the trip!!
