However, I provide detailed, extensive screenplay analysis with helpful, actionable suggestions to help you improve your next draft. I do not provide cookie-cutter script coverage with general statements and an overall rating.
Here is EVERYTHING that will be extensively analyzed in your script:
LOGLINE
I'll create a logline based on my experience with your story. You will see very quickly if it falls in line with your originally intended logline.
CONCEPT
We'll take a look at the concept. Is it high or low? What is the univeral appeal?
PREMISE
An important thing to look at here: does the story deliver on the premise?
GENRE
Another important question: Is the intended genre reflected in the story and how it's written?
STORY SPINE
We'll work on your entire story and make sure every scene fits into your story spine.
CHARACTERS
We'll look at every single character and check for good character orchestration, making sure each character serves the story.
SCENES
Most of these notes will be on the page. We'll make sure that every scene advances the story and contains good conflict from opposing scene goals.
PLOT
Here, I'll look at the story structure, analyzing the plot points and checking for discernable sequences.
STAKES
This is a very overlooked ingredient in screenwriting. Highly important in making your audience care about the outcome.
THEME
Having a theme isn't crucial to a good story, but it can make a story go from good to great.
DIALOGUE
I'll check your dialogue to make sure it sounds unique to character; is used by characters to achieve their objectives; and has real emotional heft to them.
