My OPEN LETTER to my athletes:
“You struggle for 6 years. Then suddenly, in 1 month, you achieve more than you did in 6 years.” (CTTO)
The same to all your trainings. Walang nag-iimprove na athlete na walang struggles sa trainings.
Sa training, mapapaiyak kayo, susuka, sometimes you feel na hindi kayo nag iimprove. There are days na bad performances, pero that is completely normal.
For example si coach ninyo (me). It took me 10 years to get that 38-39mins sa 10km run (1min break per year only). took me 2 decades kung ano ang nakikita nyo na skills and natural speed at power na nakikita nyo ngayon sa akin. But I started worst kasi I didn’t have resources bike ko japan mountain bike worth 2,000 pesos, sapatos ko 100pesos sa ukay tapos butas pa. No vitamins and food and not visible sa brands kasi I am from Mindanao.
I was planning to quit traithlon or even my life kasi napapagod na ako. Against all odds for me. Kapag pumupunta ako nagrerace sa Luzon, I feel very much small at coach ko lang kilala ko. commute ako via bike and bus para lang maka-race. Hindi burgis ang family ko.
I thought stars were not aligning sa pinili ko na life.
Pero na realize ko na God gave me all those hardships mentally, physically, financially, emotionally, spiritually… para sana maging good coach ninyo.
I’m sharing this kasi I want you to know na your struggles sa training are valid. And very special kayo mga students ko sa heart ko kasi lahat ng struggles ko before, nagbubunga. 😇
Never settle ✅
Malalim ang reason why I am coaching the best I can. ☺️
