Passage:
Ofure Gbinigie- Obidike buried amidst encomium, tears

Monday 14th July, 2025

The gentle soul of Princess Mrs. Rita Ofure Obidike was finally laid to rest after a glorious, colourful, farewell ceremony by the Gbinigie family, Friends and Associates in London.
It was an emotion-laden, electrifying moment for everyone who shared close bonds with Rita, who before her demise was the Managing Director, Discovery Travels and Tours. Sympathizers paid glowing tributes to the departed princess for her distinguishing lifestyle, for living not just for herself, but for those around her. From the various tributes, it was apparent that late Princess Rita lived a wonderful life, which positively impacted on all who were fortunate enough to cross her path in life. They prayed that her glorious legacy would live on.
Though Rita may no longer walk amongst the living again, her children, family, friends and associates, though in mourning mood, still celebrate the short, but very eventful and impactful life she lived, insisting that she lived well while it lasted. Her story will continue to inspire everyone to live with purpose and compassion, bequeathing to posterity a better world than they met it.
Late Princess Rita Ofure Gbinigie- Obidike left behind her loving husband, Engr. Brian C. Obidike and their two sons, Ebuka Obidike and Emeka Obidike. Others left to mourn her departure include her mother, Rt. Hon. Dame Marcelina Osula, other siblings Mr. Oghogho Gbinigie, her elder sister, Hon. (Amb.) Deaconess Florence Gbinigie JP PhD, a gender based activist, president FONWIP and former Commissioner, Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Development, Edo State Nigeria, Barr. Ik. Ian Gbinigie, PhD, Engr. Otamere H. Gbinigie, Mrs. Uyigue J. Adodo, Prince Julian Osula, Dr. Jennifer Osula, and Mrs. Marion Usude
May her gentle soul, and the souls of all faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen!
