Lately, there has been growing controversy within the Black Deaf community about whether we should sign “B” or use the index finger for the sign “Black” on the forehead.

The Black Deaf Center will host 4 Sunday sessions to provide a platform for any Black Deaf people to share their opinions and continue this important conversation. This space is for Black Deaf individuals only. It will be video recorded and post on social media.

We will have different facilitators each 4 Sundays to support and guide the discussion:

Nakia Smith – Sunday, November 23

Antines “NuNu” Davis – Sunday, November 30

Tricia Alleyne – Sunday, December 7

De’Angelo Brown – Sunday, December 14

New SW3 video dropping 🤍
For the people who been rocking with me y’all know I retired from DNO. I used to host that, but now I built something fully Deaf centered: Deaf music, Deaf performers, biopic talent, our culture FIRST.
I made the vision real, and we only going up from here.

Huge thanks to all the performers, my special guests, and those bomb tacos 😮‍💨🔥 y’all really made the night hit different.

Pulling up to Slow Burn II with me in person let’s go!

Look around!!! We turning up tonight, periodttt.

Love the effort, but the captions didn’t work tonight. Accessibility for Deaf and HoH matters.

My girl came through last minute to interpret! Shout out to my girl Vina.

Grateful for another one of my girls willing to interpret love you for that. Now I’ve got two of my girls interpreting for us.

Talking with her in person with an interpreter… that’s REAL connection, not some phone relay energy.

Remember to switch interpreters out. Interpreting is intense, and they deserve breaks.

If you’re bringing Deaf or HoH influencers out, make sure the accessibility is ON POINT: real captions, real interpreters, real communication, and GOOD LIGHT so we can actually see everything.
Accessibility isn’t extra… it’s the standard.
