A tribute to one of my all time favorite films. The person i am today has been very much shaped by movies such as this one. I remember being younger and watching this with my dad. I was probably 12 or 13, but I remember this movie, absolutely breaking my heart and opening my eyes to a specific type of pain in the world in the form of inequality, and the unnecessary suffering it begets. The movie also forces you into a specific type of moral dilemma, on the question of right and wrong. The ethics of John taking hostages in the hospital in order to save his sons life. How far would you go to protect your children? The complexity of that question made this an amazing film to watch.
