TRIBUTE TO COOPERATING ADMINISTRATORS AND TEACHERS💙
Theme: “Virtual Teaching Internship: Conquering the Challenges and Embracing the Opportunities”

Part of our journey are models that molded us to do better in our future professions. During our internship days, our Cooperating Administrators and Teachers served as guiding lights toward a clearer tomorrow. We saw the realities of our future profession and our CTs did well to help us understand varying circumstances of how these realities came to be, and how to cope with them.

It is with honor and pride that we enlighten our hearts with thankfulness and gratefulness towards our Cooperating Administrators and Teachers. We could never have improved nor experienced the things we have right now without your utmost support to the College of Education. May this virtual tribute touch your heart as you see our recognition of you, and our development because of you.

Thank you UNO-R Integrated School!✨ We are truly Tatak Rekoleto!

PRACTICE TEACHERS!💙
May 28, 2022 | Batch Polaris, Dean Chavez, and the COED faculty, held an outreach program in Purok Alunan, Brgy. Granada to enrich and support young minds and provide school materials and services.

The outreach program sponsors were the Batch Polaris practice teachers, UNORSSGO, CESC, former CESC, and UCDO.

Dean Chavez and the student principals, Mr. Allen Seva and Ms. Kirstine Javile, expressed their gratitude to the community, the practice teachers, the COED faculty, Kap Talimodao, Mr. Allen Talimodao, and COED. Dean Chavez also announced COED's plans for the next visit.

Each program arranged various fun activities that supported the learning of the children. Each learner was active, especially since each win they make is equivalent to receiving a prize from the outreach committee.

BPED started the event with aerobics as a warm-up. When the activities began, BPED facilitated the games Juego de Anillo, Ubusan ng Lahi, and Patintero to ignite recognition and appreciation of traditional Filipino games.

BSED Filipino arranged a "bugtungan" which challenged the children with Hiligaynon riddles. An estimated 38 children joined their activity ranging from grades 3 to 8.

Meanwhile, BSED English featured an activity inspired by Wowowin's "Pera o Kahon" in which the learners were asked random language-related questions. Hiligaynon was used as the medium of instruction because the learners were at the elementary level.

On the other hand, BEED used a big book to captivate the learners with storytelling.

Finally, BSED Mathematics facilitated the learning activity called "Face Value" in which every expression has an assigned amount of money.

The momentous event ended with the giving of school supplies to the kids.

PRACTICE TEACHERS!💙
May 13, 2022 | With the theme " Research, Teaching and Learning in a Time of Innovation and Adaptation: Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice", the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) held a Students' Congress webinar via Zoom and was participated by the UNO-R, College of Education(COED) 4th and 3rd-year students along with different colleges and universities in Region VI.

The morning session of the virtual students' congress started at 9 AM and was opened by an inspiring message from Dr. Brenda B. Corpuz, PAFTE National President. "Continue innovating, that is a sign and a proof that we are alive, that we grow and change our ways better and better…we are the master of technology, it is us who determine how technology should make us more effective teachers, how technology should bridge the gap between theory and practice." uttered by Dr. Corpuz.

Afterward, Dr. Ma. Theresa H. Chavez, Dean of UNO-R, COED introduced the speaker in the person of Dr. Joji D. Linaugo who shared his knowledge and expertise in research from choosing the right topics down to concluding.

This virtual event sought to bring together future professionals and researchers towards excellence in the field of research and innovation. To showcase students' potential and outputs, the PAFTE gave each school the opportunity by sharing their platform to present students' research.

UNO-R, College of Education featured the research entitled "SONA 2020: The Duterte Discourse" presented by Windsor Linus R. Sumbillo and co-authored by Angela G. Gamarza, Nicole D. Ordaniel, Mark Anthony R. Retiban, and Jaymark B. Villagracia. The researchers are indeed grateful to the UNO-R, CoEd, Mr. Remus S. Magbanua, and PAFTE for the opportunity given to them and also to their research adviser and professor, Mr. Nikko Paolo R. Calumpiano, who guided them throughout their academic endeavor.

On the other hand, Ms. Andrea Nicole Sumugat, BEED Practice Teacher shared her insights after the Regional Students' Congress, " Although it took place virtually, the knowledge and experience I garnered from this event were meaningful. This students' congress enlightens me about the role of teachers in the effective utilization of technology for the teaching-learning process and most definitely in producing well-crafted research. As future educators, we are expected to be life-long learners, and through conducting research, we can spot educational or even societal problems and resolve them in a systematic & reflective manner as we bridge the gap between theory and practice."

PRACTICE TEACHERS!💙
May 02, 2022 | The quest for knowledge and teaching experience testimonies of the College of Education pre-service teachers continued as they joined another session of webinar together with Ms. Ma. Karren Katherine B. Perartilla was their resource speaker.

Ms. Perartilla's webinar was entitled "Expectation vs. Reality: Overcoming Teaching Challenges from a Lens of a Public School Teacher," where she highlighted all her teaching experience and what pre-service teachers should expect when getting hired in a public school.

"Oo. G**o ako. Pero hindi g**o LANG." Ms. Perartilla's reminders to the Batch Polaris when they got hired soon as professional teachers.

" You have to collaborate with your colleagues with whatever material you have. They may not have known something you know… you have to understand the process, you have to go with the flow.", she added as she stressed the meaning of collaboration in the workplace.

After the webinar, Mr. Jomar Fraylon, one of the college interns, shared his realization: "I realized that investing for professional development/growth is a must for every teacher. It can also help teachers increase their earnings/salary and help them get promoted when they apply for a higher position in the school they are working for.".

"There are problems that are evident in reality that even debunk college students' expectations or fresh graduates. Thus, this webinar "Expectations vs. Reality: Overcoming Teaching Challenges from a Lens of a Public School Teacher" gave us tips to consider on what steps we should take and what plan we should prepare. In this matter, we could be fully-prepared educators in our teaching field" expressed by Mr. Reyland Alvarez, Program Committee Head.

The webinar started at exactly 1:00 PM and was hosted by Ms. Rosemarie Damasco - BSED IV and Mr. Jomar Fraylon- BEED IV, both pre-service teachers from CoEd.
