Cindy McKay thought she was a criminal mastermind—but in reality, she was more Dollar Store than Oceans Eleven. In this episode, we dive into the ridiculous rise and spectacular fall of Cindy McKay: con artist, arsonist, murderer…and, frankly, an idiot.
From scamming neighbors with laughably bad schemes to setting fires she couldn’t control (or even properly plan), Cindy’s life of crime wasn’t just evil—it was embarrassingly sloppy. We’ll follow her bumbling trail of fraud, greed, and flaming stupidity all the way to her inevitable downfall.
How did this walking disaster manage to cause so much chaos? And how did it all go up in smoke—literally?
Pour yourself a cold one and buckle up. This is one mess of a story.

Way back in the David Carpenter, Trailside killer episode, a cop said that they were looking for a needle in the haystack looking for him. That caused me to go on a rant about Zip Recruiter and the fact that they had been running commercials about finding the needle in the haystack for over 10 years. Same script, different person reading each ad. Well, about 6 months ago, they stopped running those commercials. Did they hear the episode and decide it was time to change it? As far as I'm concerned, that's exactly what happened. LOL

You want cats? WE GOT CATS! LOTS of them! Sorry, not sorry for the cliffhanger though! And part 2 is MUCH more intense than part 1.

In this chilling conclusion to our two-part deep dive into Sheryl Ruthven’s dark world, we follow her as she launches the notorious cat cult—a bizarre and twisted extension of her control. Ruthven forced her followers to take in up to 30 cats each, demanding they prioritize these animals over their own families.

With mounting financial demands and increasingly strange rituals, her grip tightened, driving her followers deeper into her warped and evolving religion.

Join us as we uncover the full extent of Ruthven’s manipulation and the devastating fallout that followed.

We cover her rise to cult leader, and the beginnings of her insanity. Here kitty kitty kitty!

April 25th, 2025, I woke up to heartbreaking news. Todd Teal, My life long friend of 35+ years, as well as band mate, and the original co-host of CKCB had passed away from an apparent heart attack.
This episode is a tribute to Todd. I've taken segments from 7 episodes that stuck out in my mind, that were very funny, and put them in this episode. I've also included messages from his friends, as well as other podcasters who were on episodes with him.
Its a touching way for people to remember him, and hear and see him laughing and having fun. There's not just this. He was on over 90 episodes of this show. That's well over half the catalog! RIP, Brother...I'll catch you on the flip side.
