Tuna Melt Patties 🧀🐟
Ingredients
For the Patties:
2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained
½ cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 small onion, finely diced
1 tbsp lemon juice
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
1 egg, lightly beaten
For Frying:
2 tbsp oil (vegetable or olive oil)
For Serving (Optional):
Slices of tomato
Extra cheese for topping
Fresh parsley for garnish
Directions
1. Make the Tuna Mixture
In a large bowl, mix tuna, breadcrumbs, mayo, mustard, onion, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, cheese, and the beaten egg.
Stir until well combined. If the mixture is too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.
2. Shape & Chill
Form the mixture into small patties (about ½ inch thick).
Place them on a plate and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to help them hold their shape.
3. Pan-Fry the Patties
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
If desired, place a slice of cheese on top in the last minute of cooking and let it melt.
4. Serve & Enjoy!
Serve hot with slices of tomato, extra cheese, or a side of tartar sauce.
Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color!
