🏕️Our latest long overdue camping trip to Tallulah Gorge State Park in Georgia. 1,099 stairs were accomplished for these views! Actually, we did 1,700 stairs since we did it incorrectly the first day, and redid it the next! 😂😂 The leg pain was worth it! A great trip in the books!
🏕️Nice, smaller campground. Not many curves for my motion sick friends. 🙌🏻 Very nice welcome center, and the trails were great! A plus, Helen is about 35 minutes from the campground.
Only complaint is the highway is close by therefore traffic and semis are heard at night if you care about that.

🎙️Back in April, I participated in a Podcast with Rootless Living, and I just realized it came out! So exciting, but also very nerve racking to hear yourself on a podcast! 🫣 Eeeek! It’s an hour long conversation with deep questions about our 18 months on the road, including pre travel and post travel! Thankful for this opportunity! ❤️

I’ve been missing full time travels a lot lately. I was looking at photos from 2 years ago when we began our full time lifestyle, and came across this screen shot I saved. Such a good reminder that life isn’t amazing all of the time, that it can be routine and ordinary, and when we do come to a part that’s amazing, it makes us breathe in those moments, and that’s what it means to be alive. ❤️

Day 2:
🗽Got to Liberty Park early for ferry tickets to Ellis Island, and Liberty Island. We toured the immigration building/museum that once processed 12 million immigrants! 🤯Then to Liberty Island to gaze in amazement at the Statue of Liberty, that is just unreal in person. 🥹 The kids absolutely loved it, and were spitting out facts. Charlie was sure the old torch was in the museum on the island, and he had to see it! After googling it, he was right! The kids also got another junior ranger badge while there! 🙌🏼❤️
🎡 That evening, we hit up the American Dream mall, which was insane!! With 4 parking garages, a water park, a theme park, a skating rink… it was wild! Mr, Beast burgers were for dinner and the Oreo Cafe for dessert. 🍪

🛣️ Road trip to New York to explore and meet up with our good friends we haven’t seen in 3 years! We have missed them, and enjoyed spending some time together. ❤️ New York City was amazing, and such a neat place to visit! 🤩
Day 1: Sunday
Checked into our hotel in Weehawken, New Jersey, and had a stunning view of New York! We were so happy with our hotel, and the view! 😍 Caught the evening ferry to NYC, hopped on a bus, and checked out Times Square. I was so overwhelmed by the amount of people there! 😮‍💨🤯 Wow! We shopped around in a few stores, took in the craziness, and strolled back to the ferry to head back to the hotel for the night. 🏙️

Oh my goodness!! 🤩🤩 I have been patiently waiting to hold these beauties, and in my hands! 😍😍 Writing an article, Happily Homeschooling, for a magazine company is a check mark on the bucket list for me. ❤️ Icing on the cake is a big picture of my family in another magazine, which makes this that much sweeter!
Thank you to this company for allowing travelers to reach others, connect and share their knowledge with one another. ❤️

Fort McAllister State Park in Richmond Hill, Georgia for the weekend. ⛺️
Highlights:
🌅 The sunsets on the water were breathtaking.
☀️The weather was perfect and the storms held out.
🍤Dinner at Fish Tales was amazing and worth the hour wait.
🦌Frequent wildlife spottings of deer and raccoons.
🥏Capture the flag with light up pieces that ended with all of us injured. From a bloody elbow, bruised knees to pine cone marks to the back, and scratches. 🤕
🪖Explored the dark pathways, hideouts, cannons, and more at the Fort.
A few things to mention to keep it real here!
1) I’m happy we got to camp this weekend, but I speak for us all when I say we’re happy to be able to go back to a house. 🏠

2) In the house, we have more distractions to keep us from spending time together as a family. When we camp, we play games and interact more. 🧩

3) Sometimes, our kids complain and protest about the activities we do when we camp. They complain it’s too hot when in fact it isn’t. They protest hard about going on trails. They would literally sit in the camper the whole weekend watching Wipeout unless we force them out. 🥴
Just know that!

Overall a good first camping weekend in the books and a calming to my adventure seeking state...for the moment. 🔥🌅⛺️🦌

Let’s go camping…haven’t done that in a while. 🤩Boredom, and the craving to be in nature is gnawing at me like no other! This baby still feels like home. ❤️❤️❤️

We love our CC (Classical Conversations) homeschool group so much! When we started homeschooling back in 2019, I knew I was going to need accountability, and guidance. Little did I know, I was going to be a part of a village of wonderful ladies that I can count on and do life with. ❤️
A beautiful, fun day at Jasper Park in South Carolina.😎 I said to my kiddos “man, this makes me miss camper life so much” to which they both agreed. Today made my heart so happy. ❤️

🙌🏼🥳 My article is out, y’all!! 🤩🤩🤩 I get teary eyed looking at the pictures!!🥹🥹 I can’t wait to physically hold a copy of it! (I sent it to the wrong address so there’s that, lol!) I will get it eventually.
But it’s available for download on the Rootless Living app now. I believe after a little bit, the price drops to $5 to purchase the magazine. ((Just helping y’all out!$$$))
Buuuutt, look at my wittle munchkins on the contents page exploring in Wyoming! 😍 Oh, my heart! And the email I received this morning featuring our article with their picture. What a way to wake up this morning. ☀️❤️

We’ve been silent over here for a little bit, but I can promise you the Fitts fam have been busy! It’s a bittersweet transition as we settle back down into a house and become stationary once again. If you need us we will be filling nail holes, and painting for a while! 🙌🏼
