President Russell M. Nelson wasn't just a good man. He was a great man. But his greatness did not come from any way that the world measures it. He did not have wealth nor command of the armies and navies of the world nor much influence in the halls of power. His greatness did not come from his own high intelligence though he was undoubtedly a wise and smart man.

What made President Nelson a great man was his love, his sacrifice, his devotion, and his service to and for the cause of Jesus Christ.

Russell M. Nelson gave his life to Jesus Christ. Even before his call to the Holy Apostleship, President Nelson spent his life filling the purposes of the Lord in forsaking the destructive ways of worldly living and giving himself to magnifying his callings in the church, striving got excellence in his work, and being a dedicated father to his family.

As an Apostle of Jesus Christ, Elder Nelson served God with all his might, mind, heart, and power. He went where God sent him, proclaimed the truths that God revealed to him, and did all that he could to lift the members of the church through love and service.

In what should've been his retired twilight years, President Nelson wore out his life in the constant service he gave to Jesus Christ and His church. Learning and living the truths that President Nelson proclaim enriched my life, deepened my relationship with my Lord Jesus Christ, and strengthened the love and relationships within my family.

I mourn the loss of such a great man, rejoice in the blessings of his great work, and rejoice that the work of the Lord continues forth as Jesus Christ leads His church through His Prophets and Apostles.

The two days of September 21st and 22nd, 1823 are two of the most important days in history. Everything men thought they knew about life, death, the afterlife, and the history of the world was changed forever. It was the beginning of a marvelous work and a wonder that lays out the only path to peace, liberty, and prosperity for all.

It was on these days that the Angel Moroni, a resurrected man sent as a messenger from God, appeared to the 18 year old Joseph Smith. This vision changed not just Joseph's life, but all of subsequent history.

Because of the Angel Moroni, we know that life continues after death.

We further know what life after death is like.

We know what our purpose in this life is and how to fulfill it.

We know the source of true and lasting joy.

We know who we are and why each person's life matters.

We know the way to end hunger, famine, disease, and suffering if people would accept it.

We know that God is neither dead nor silent, but speaks directly to men and women, Prophets and Apostles in our present day as He did in the past.

We know that God loves His children all over the world and have proof that He spoke to people everywhere, not just in Palestine over two millennia ago.

We know what blessings God has in store for His covenant people and how to secure those blessings for ourselves by binding ourselves to God.

We know who God is and why He loves us so much.

We know in what we should have faith, why we should have hope, and the love with which these truths fill us.

We know how each of us can live a life full of meaning, purpose, and satisfaction.

We know all this, and more, because of the Book of Mormon and the era of modern, continuous revelation it inaugurated.

Today is a great day indeed!

Today is President Russell M. Nelson's 101st birthday. It is a great gift to be guided by such a wise, intelligent man as the Prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I want to share one of my favorite addresses, which demonstrates the inspiration and wisdom with which he leads the Lord's people:

"If we look to the world and follow its formulas for happiness, we will never know joy. The unrighteous may experience any number of emotions and sensations, but they will never experience joy! Joy is a gift for the faithful. It is the gift that comes from intentionally trying to live a righteous life, as taught by Jesus Christ.

He taught us how to have joy. When we choose Heavenly Father to be our God and when we can feel the Savior’s Atonement working in our lives, we will be filled with joy. Every time we nurture our spouse and guide our children, every time we forgive someone or ask for forgiveness, we can feel joy.

Every day that you and I choose to live celestial laws, every day that we keep our covenants and help others to do the same, joy will be ours."

President Nelson teaches that we can have joy in the midst of any circumstance if we are focused on Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation.

America's greatest living statesman just turned 90 recently. In our lifetimes he is the only one who:

-Always told the truth
-Never gave in to corporate interests
-Never gave in to political party interests
-Revealed the corruption in the political system
-Predicted ever major problem of the last 30 years
-Stood his ground when viciously attacked in the media
-Fought against the war machine in all its forms
-Defended the liberties of Americans
-Revealed the lies and propaganda the government spreads
-Understood the impact of government economic decisions
-Proposed any kind of policies that would encourage prosperity
-Stood for the poor and the needy
-Built bridges with the world
-That fought against the slaughter of foreigners by the American military
-Actively opposed genocides by American allies all over the world
-Defended American families from the greatest threats to it

And I got to celebrate his birthday with him alongside some of the best people today. This is the story of the truths that man taught, the influences those truths have had on the people who listened, and why there is hope for tomorrow.

Who do you listen and why?

I listen to and follow the directions, teachings, and counsel of President Russell M. Nelson. He is a Prophet of God, meaning that God Himself communicates directly with President Nelson and tells him the truths and ways of living that apply directly to our world today.

Heeding the counsel of the Prophet of God bring me the greatest peace and joy in this life and eternal life in the world to come. Following Jesus Christ and His prophets brings me peace, hope, and joy through my relationship with Him and obedience to the ways of living that magnify happiness.

Who we listen to really matters. Make sure that you're choosing the right voices so that you live the greatest life.

It is an easy thing to believe in the dead prophets. Many people do. For some mysterious reason, there is an aura of credibility about them. Why is it not so with the prophet who lives among us, who must meet life’s everyday challenges. But it is a great thing to believe in the living prophets. Our salvation is contingent upon our belief in a living prophet and adherence to his word. He alone has the right to revelation for the whole Church. His words, above those of any other man, ought to be esteemed and considered by the Church as well as by the world. One day this truth will be understood.🤍

Did you know that the Bible teaches that God has a wife?

The oldest texts in the Bible, in their ancient Hebrew, teach that God has a wife, that their son is Yahweh/Jehovah, and that Yahweh is the head of a whole family of other children of God and His Wife.

Further, the ancient Hebrew texts also explain that their other gods. Not false idol gods, but gods in service with God the Father as part of the Divine Council of Heaven. They all work together to accomplish God's will in Creation.

Further, archaeology confirms it all. Numerous discoveries have shown that the ancient Israelites worshipped God the Father, His Wife, and Yahweh the Son in numerous holy sites throughout all of ancient Palestine.

Why doesn't the Bible in English say all these things? Because of numerous efforts by "reformers" -i.e. heretics and apostates who murdered the prophets and altered the religion of Israel to empower a corrupt group of priests and the king - to alter the texts that would eventually be included in the Bible to try and (imperfectly) eliminate the truth.

This article brings all this information together in one place to show what the revealed God of Heaven is really like and that the God Jews and Christians are worshipping is nothing like the God they do worship.

In fact, only one faith tradition out of all of them actually worships the true God revealed by the ancient prophets and apostles. And that faith tradition is one of the most controversial of all.

A great Superman movie isn't about cool fights, amazing special effects, or overwhelming spectacle. The stupidest action movie schlock has those in spades. A great Superman movie must have more.

It must have a purpose, a message. It must have hope.

Because that is what Superman is all about - Hope.

In this article I look at the latest Superman movie and judge it against this harshest and most difficult of criteria:

Does Superman in this movie inspire in me hope for myself, my world, and my fellowman? Does this movie leave me with the desire to want to make the world around me a better place? Does it give me hope?

I explore the central message of this movie, the inevitable conflict between Hope vs. Despair, which one you choose, and which one wins.

In doing so, I explain how Clark exemplifies the Three Great Virtues: Faith, Hope, and Charity in what he believes, what he does, why he does those things, and in his impact on the world around him.

This article is about what it means to be Superman and how this movie understands and tries to fulfill that meaning, which results in making it a great Superman movie.

The new Superman movie premieres this weekend. Despite its flaws, it is a fantastic movie with a fantastic moral compass and message. In this article I review what the movie has to say about hope, despair, and the Three Great Virtues: Faith, Hope, and Charity (the pure love of Christ.)

In the USA, the Fourth of July is Nationalist Christmas. It is the Nativity of America, a rival God in opposition to God of Israel. America is an idol and the Fourth of July is the orgiastic celebration of that idol. The Fourth of July is a day of idol worship through and through.

In this article, the focus is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, what the scriptures and prophets of God have taught us about the commandments of the Lord, their power to transform society and create Zion - a society of peace without poverty, war, or hatred.

This article contrasts that with the manner in which the nations of the world worship power, greed, s*x - how they rule through violence and slaughter. Ultimately, it points out how the nations of the world serve Satan and carry out his purposes of hatred and misery upon the Earth. The United States is a primary example of this in action.

Finally, the call is to repent, to change and become better by becoming holier. Our focus should never be on the kingdoms of men and obedience to the powers of the world. Rather, we should love and serve God with all our individual heart, might, mind, and strength.

Only in doing so can we overthrow the powers of blood and horror upon the Earth.

Worship, love, and serve God, not man.

I find nothing to celebrate on the Fourth of July. It, like all nationalist holidays, is nothing more than the largest, loudest, and obnoxious propaganda program that has ever existed. Through all the parades, fireworks, and barbeques, people rarely ask what exactly are they so effulgently praising....

“Everyone has pain somewhere, and our challenge is to find out where the pain is. Usually it’s not physical pain but comes in the stress of living. The patient is always the expert.

This is what we try to teach the missionaries. When you meet someone, find out how we can help them. The Church literally has the capacity to help people no matter what their problem is. The gospel exists to help people.” - Prophet Russell M. Nelson

Thinking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a list of restrictions misses the point. Taking care of our body comes with a list of Do's and Don'ts if we want to minimize the pain we experience. (For example: Do exercise daily. Don't eat a ton of junk food.) These aren't restrictions on your life, rather they are what you must do to maximize your potential for a long, joyful life.

This is exactly true of the Gospel. The commandments of God are not restrictions on you. Rather, they are the instructions on how to have the greatest amount of joy in a life with the least amount of pain possible. To stop living the Gospel doesn't make you freer or happier, it only increases the amount of pain in your life and the lives of those around you.

This is the Holy Week portion of our Easter Advent Celebration.

It starts with the triumphal entry on Palm Sunday.

Next, it looks at the cleansing of the temple by Christ on Monday.

Then we look at the the betrayal of Judas on Wednesday and the warning it provides all of us now.

On Thursday, we look at the suffering of Christ in Gethsemane as He took upon Himself the sins, sorrows, and sicknesses of the world.

Friday we study the Crucifixion and Christ's redeeming love.

Saturday explores Christ’s ministry in the Spirit World, His inauguration of the preaching of the Gospel to the Dead, and the purpose of temples in the redemption of the Dead.

Sunday celebrates His triumphant return as the Resurrected Lord and the joys and promises it brings to us today.

Each day includes scriptures, quotations from church leaders, hymns, videos, and free activities for families to read, sing, watch, and do together as you seek to focus their Easter celebrations on the Savior Jesus Christ.
