KALAYAAN JOBS FAIR, IDINAOS SA SM CITY BAGUIO NGAYONG ARAW

Idinaos ngayong araw, Hunyo 12, 2025, ang Kalayaan Jobs Fair sa Mall Atrium ng SM City Baguio sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Labor and Employment - Cordillera (DOLE-CAR), City Government of Baguio, at Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

Lumahok ang 18 business establishments na nag-alok ng halos isang libong job vacancies para sa mga jobseekers. Layunin ng job fair na mabigyan ng oportunidad ang mga naghahanap ng trabaho kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Kalayaan.

Inaasahang makatutulong ito upang mapababa ang unemployment rate sa rehiyon at maitaguyod ang kabuhayan ng mga mamamayan.

BAGUIO CITY, NAKAIWAS SA KRISIS SA BASURA SA PAMAMAGITAN NG EMERGENCY DEAL SA PAMPANGA

BAGUIO CITY — Naiwasan ng lungsod ang krisis sa basura matapos makipagkasundo ang pamahalaang lungsod sa isang pribadong landfill sa Porac, Pampanga, kasunod ng biglaang pagsasara ng tambakan sa Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

Ayon sa General Services Office, simula Hunyo 5 ay tatanggapin na ng Primewaste Solution sa Porac ang basura mula Baguio.

Dahil dito, tataas ang hauling cost mula P853 sa P1,600 kada tonelada, habang bahagyang bababa ang tipping fee mula P650 sa P550 kada tonelada.

Pansamantala lamang ang kasunduang ito habang hindi pa operational ang landfill sa Urdaneta.

Baguio ay lumilikha ng halos 600 toneladang basura kada araw, kung saan 35.9% ay biodegradable, 32.55% ay residual, at 30.82% ay recyclable.

LIGA NG MGA BARANGAY WELCOMES B**G REVILLA DURING GENERAL ASSEMBLY

THE Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas (LNB), the national organization representing over 42,000 barangays, welcomed Senator Ramon B**g Revilla, Jr. during its General Membership Assembly on Tuesday (April 1) at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The event gathered around 2,500 municipal, city, independent component city, highly urbanized city, and provincial chapter presidents and board of directors, and Sangguniang Kabataan presidents from across the nation. The assembly served as a platform to discuss key initiatives and strategies to strengthen grassroots governance and community development.

Senator B**g Revilla, a staunch advocate for barangay empowerment, expressed his deep appreciation for the opportunity to engage with barangay leaders nationwide.

“Lubos po akong nagpapasalamat sa Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas sa inyong mainit na pagtanggap. Kayo po ang tunay na haligi ng ating mga komunidad – ang unang sumasalo sa pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan. Kaya’t buong puso kong sinusuportahan ang inyong adhikain at sisiguraduhin na mas maramdaman ninyo ang suporta, malasakit at aksyon ng gobyerno,” the senator said.

Having been a public servant for three decades, Senator B**g Revilla is cognizant of the importance of barangays in nation-building and in delivering front-line services of the government.

"Kayo ang unang sandigan ng ating mga kababayan. Kayo ang unang tinatakbuhan sa oras ng pangangailangan. At sa mga panahong sinusubok tayo ng bagyo, sakuna, o krisis, kayo ang unang sumusuong sa panganib. Hindi biro ang inyong ginagampanan. Hindi madali ang inyong trabaho. Ngunit sa kabila ng lahat, nananatili kayong matatag," he emphasized in his speech.

“Noong una po akong inalok na magkaroon ng regular TV program, tinanong ako ano daw ang role na gusto ko. Ang sagot ko, gusto kong maging kapitan dahil idol ko ang mga kapitan. Yon po ang rason bakit nabuo ang “Idol Ko Si Kap” kung saan ay gumanap ako bilang Kapitan,” B**g Revilla lightly shared.

The solon also underscored his support for extending the term of barangay officials to ensure sustained and effective service delivery.

"Ito po ang rason at motibasyon ko kung bakit buong-puso kong sinusuportahan na tuluyan nang maging batas ang panukalang magpapalawig sa inyong termino. Kakaupo niyo pa lang, magsisimula sa inyong mga gawain, tapos pagkalipas ng isa’t kalahating taon ay mapipilitan na kayong mag-focus sa paparating na eleksyon. Kaya bitin talaga. Nararapat lang na mapahaba ang inyong termino," the solon added.

Throughout his career, B**g Revilla has consistently worked alongside local government units (LGUs) and barangay leaders, recognizing their indispensable role. His legislative accomplishments include laws that directly impact barangays, such as the Expanded Centenarians Act, Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act, Anti-No Permit, No Exam Policy Act, and the Free College Entrance Examination Act.

"Bilang kasangga niyo sa Senado, patuloy nating isusulong ang mga adbokasiyang pinakamalalapit sa ordinaryong Pilipino – Disenteng Trabaho at Kita, Pagkain sa Bawat Hapag, at Benepisyo para sa mga Nangangailangan. Dahil sa inyong pagsisikap, patuloy nating maipapakita na ang barangay ay hindi lamang unang hantungan ng serbisyo-publiko kundi ang tunay na puso ng ating gobyerno," the veteran public servant remarked.

Senator Ramon B**g Revilla, Jr. on Friday (February 28) reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring no Filipino goes hungry, as he rallied for stronger food security policies during the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas campaign sortie in San Jose Del Monte City in Bulacan. This is in line with his advocacies and platform of "Aksyon sa Tunay na Buhay - trabaho at disenteng sweldo; pagkain sa bawat hapag; at sapat na suporta sa mga nangangailangan".

B**g Revilla highlighted his advocacy for Pagkain sa Bawat Hapag, emphasizing the need for greater investment in the agriculture sector, better support for farmers and fisherfolk, and stricter measures against hoarding and smuggling of essential goods.

"Ang tunay na pag-unlad ay hindi makakamit hangga’t may pamilyang nagugutom. Kailangan nating tiyakin na may sapat at abot-kayang pagkain sa bawat hapag ng pamilyang Pilipino," he said.

The senator stressed the importance of modernizing Philippine agriculture through technology and innovation to increase productivity and reduce costs. He also called for expanded financial aid and infrastructure projects to improve farm-to-market access and ensure fair prices for local producers.

B**g Revilla assured Filipinos that his legislative priorities will focus on lowering food prices, stabilizing inflation, and making nutritious food accessible to every household. SENATOR Ramon B**g Revilla, Jr. pushed forward with his campaign trail, making his way through the towns of Nasugbu, Tuy, Balayan, and Calaca City in the Province of Batangas Tuesday afternoon (February 25).

Energized supporters went out to the streets as his motorcade passed, eager to catch a glimpse of the renowned actor-lawmaker. Batangueños welcomed him with cheers, handshakes, and selfies.

Revilla expressed his deep appreciation for the warm support in Batangas. “Napakainit ng pagsalubong ng mga Batangueño. PUMASA sa ikatlo at pinal na pagbasa ang panukalang batas na iniakda mismo ni Sen. Ramon B**g Revilla Jr. hinggil sa pagsasaayos ng agricultural profession sa pamamagitan nang pagbuo ng professional regulatory board (PRB) for agriculturists. Sa kasalukuyan, wala pang batas na nagbubuo ng professional regulatory board for agriculturists para i-regulate ang naturang propesyon.

Sa ilalim ng SB 2906, ang Professional Regulatory Board of Agriculture ay bubuuin ng chairperson at 5 miyembro—na bawat isa ay may kakayahan hinggil sa anim na espelesasyon sa larangan sa agrikultura. Tulad ng ibang PRBs, ang Board ay may kapangyarihang magpahayag, mamahala at magpatupad ng mga panuntunan para sa mga registered agriculturists at mapangasiwaan ang licensure, registration, at pagsasanay ng naturang propesyon.

“Sobra po akong nagagalak sa pagkakapasa nitong SB 2906 sa Senado. As principal author of this measure, I cherish this accomplishment. Alam naman natin kung gaano kalaking tulong sa ating mga magsasaka ang mga agriculturist, kaya tama lang na suportahan natin sila sa pamamagitan ng pagpasa ng isang professional regulatory law,” pahayag ni Revilla.

Ang naturang batas ay nagtakda rin ng minimum base pay ng isang registered agriculturist na nagtarabaho sa national government na may salary grade 13 na katumbas ng P34,421. Samantala, ang lokal na pamahalaan ay hinihimok na i-upgrade ang suweldo ng kanilang personnel. Sa pribadong sektor naman, ang agricultural corporations ay inoobligang mag-empleyo o kunin ang serbisyo ng mga registered agriculturists.

“This is really a development. Through this law, mas madi-dignify pa ang ating mga registered agriculturists. And they will be treated at par with other professions,” dagdag pa ni Revilla.

Ang pagkakapasa ng SB 2906 ay isang malaking hakbangin sa pagsisikap ng pamahalaan na bigyan ng kapangyarihan ang agriculture professionals, isulong ang agricultural competitiveness ng bansa at masiguro ang food security sa bansa.

Ang naturang panukala ay nasa House of Representatives na para sa kanilang pagtugon.

Given a sponsor-authorized release of a commissioned survey item, SWS is disclosing pertinent survey results and technical details for the public’s benefit. The national Social Weather Survey of December 12-18, 2024 contained a question sponsored by Stratbase Consultancy on voter preference for senators. Stratbase provided the list of 70 names. The respondents were asked, “Narito po ang listahan ng mga pangalan ng mga kandidato para sa mga SENADOR NG PILIPINAS. Kung ang eleksiyon ay gaganapin ngayon, sino ang pinakamalamang ninyong iboboto bilang mga SENADOR NG PILIPINAS? Maaari po kayong pumili ng hanggang 12 pangalan? [Here is a list of names of candidates for SENATORS OF THE PHILIPPINES. If elections were to take place today, whom would you most probably vote for as SENATORS OF THE PHILIPPINES? You can mention up to 12 names].” The respondents were shown a showcard of 70
names to choose from, and they gave their answers orally. The list was in alphabetical order, and included nicknames, as practiced by the Commission on Elections on election day.

In a list of 70 names, Tulfo, Erwin (LAKAS) leads the list of 12 possible winners for Senator of the Philippines for the 2025 elections with 45% of intended votes. He is followed by B**g Revilla, Ramon, Jr. (LAKAS) in 2nd place (33%), Go, B**g Go (PDPLBN) and Cayetano, Pia (NP) are tied in 3rd-4th place with 32% each, Sotto, Tito (NPC) in 5th place (31%), Tulfo, Ben Bitag (IND) in 6th place (30%), Lacson, Ping (IND) in 7th place (27%), Pacquiao, Manny Pacman (PFP) and Revillame, Willie Wil (IND) are tied in 8th-9th place with 26% each, Binay, Abby (NPC) in 10th place (25%), and Lapid, Lito (NPC) in 11th place (23%). Survey background
The Fourth Quarter Social Weather Survey was conducted from December 12-18, 2024, using face-to-face interviews of 2,097 registered voters (18 years old and above) nationwide: 342 in Metro Manila, 1,050 in Balance Luzon (or Luzon outside Metro Manila), 353 in the Visayas, and 352 in Mindanao. Face-to-face is the standard interviewing method for Social Weather Stations; the only exceptions were early in the pandemic when movement restrictions made face-to-face impossible and mobile phone interviews were conducted. Normal face-to-face field operations resumed in November 2020. The sampling error margins are ±2.1% for national percentages, ±5.3% for Metro Manila, ±3.0% for Balance Luzon, and ±5.2% each for the Visayas and Mindanao. The area estimates were weighted by the Philippine Statistics Authority medium-population projections for 2024 to obtain the national estimates. The survey results are shown in Table 1.

Senator Ramon B**g Revilla, Jr. today warned the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) of the possible consequences in case it fails to implement RA 11982, or the Expanded Centenarian Law, this coming January. Known to be a Senior Citizens’ Welfare champion, the lawmaker said the NCSC should start distributing benefits come the new year or else gain the ire of lolos and lolas who have been waiting for the benefit since it was signed into law in March 2024.

“Huwag magkakamali ang NCSC na hindi ito agarang ipatupad. Hindi naman nila siguro idi-disappoint ang ating mga lolo at lola na inaabangan na ito since last March,” he said. “Sigurado naman akong ayaw nilang harapin ang galit ng ating mga nakakatanda,” the solon added.

Dubbed as “Revilla Law”, the Expanded Centenarians Act grants cash gifts to senior citizens who will receive 10,000 pesos each upon reaching the ages of 80, 85, 90 and 95; while the centenarians or those who will reach 100 years old upon the effectivity of the law will continue to receive a one-time cash gift of 100,000 pesos.

“Sinugurado natin na mapondohan yan sa General Appropriations Act (GAA) o 2025 National Budget. Nakipag-ugnayan tayo sa DBM para garantisado ang pondo. Now it’s in the NCSC hands to fully implement it and ensure that no lolo and lola will be left behind”, Revilla remarked. “Wala silang dahilan para hindi ito maipatupad.”

According to Revilla, “there are almost 200,000 senior citizens who stand to benefit under the law. We thus call on the NCSC to fulfill their obligations in ensuring that payouts are already ready and rolled out starting January 2025. They have already been given enough time and funding.”
