The day is 9/11/2001.
A day that for most of us, started as just another day in the office and started as just another morning.
Families were waking up having their morning cup of coffee. Waking up the kids and loved ones, getting ready to send them to school and get them through their morning routine. However, for most of these families, without a 2nd thought, this would be the last time they see them.
Some of those families had no idea, that before 12pm, their lives would be changed forever.
Most of that generation can tell you exactly where they were when the first tower was hit. No one knew what was going on… at first. Everyone thought it was just a terrible mistake. This was no mistake. After the 2nd tower was hit, we were under attack.
Without a 2nd thought no one cared about their feelings for anyone else. No one cared if you were Republican, Democrat, Moderate, etc. No matter what, together, first responders and even bystanders would spring into action. Not knowing that one of these times as they entered the towers to try and help save their family, co-workers, and friends, they may not come back out. And by just about 11am, most of them would enter the towers for the last time.
Remember this day, remember those we lost, remember how everyone came together no matter their race, religion, views, anything. We all came together as one.
I am proud to be an American and live in the Greatest Country on Earth.
