• Lucky Bay – kangaroos on the sand, in Cape Le Grand
• Twilight Beach – on the Great Ocean Drive
• Little Hellfire Bay – tucked away in Cape Le Grand

Unpopular opinion: the Great Ocean Drive in WA might be more impressive than the Great Ocean Road in Victoria... you'll have to see it to judge for yourself 😍

It's only a 40km loop, but we spent a whole day on it. The stops worth pulling over for:

• Twilight Bay – vibrant blue water, one of our favourites
• Blue Haven Beach – exactly what it sounds like
• Eleven Mile Beach & Lagoon – secluded and stunning
• Observatory Point & Lookout – the view over the whole drive
• Pink Lake Lookout – to finish it off

They say the best places are the hardest to get to, and Karijini fits that perfectly 😅

How to actually get there:

• Fly into Paraburdoo for the quickest option
• Or road trip from Perth through the outback for the full experience
• Expect some long drives, it's in the remote North West of WA
• Check road conditions before you go, and plan your fuel stops

It takes a bit of planning and usually some long stretches behind the wheel, but trust us, it's worth it.

Karijini is remote and spread out, so working out what to do (and in what order) can feel overwhelming 😅

Here's how we'd structure 4 days:

• Split your time across the best gorges instead of backtracking
• Mix the big hikes with the easier swimming-hole days so you're not burnt out
• Leave room to actually slow down, some of the best spots take effort to reach
• Base yourself smart so you're not driving huge distances each day

It quickly became one of our favourite national parks in all of Australia. Deep red gorges, epic hikes, swimming spots hidden through the park.

The best ones, and what makes each worth your time:

• Hamersley Gorge – layered red rock and a swim spot that looks unreal
• Hancock Gorge – narrow canyon walls, the famous Spider Walk
• Joffre Gorge – a natural amphitheatre of curved rock
• Dales Gorge – Fern Pool and Circular Pool, great for a cool-off
• Weano + Oxer Lookout – where the gorges all meet, epic views
• Kalamina Gorge – quieter, easier, still stunning

Ancient layered rock, deep narrow canyons, hidden swimming holes. There's a gorge here for every kind of traveller, whether you want big hikes or an easy wander.
