The Supreme Court is hearing YouTuber and Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia’s petition today, seeking the clubbing of multiple cases filed against him over his controversial remarks made on comedian Samay Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Latent’. A bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh is taking up the case.

The hearing has been scheduled after Allahbadia, who is facing police inquiries, moved the Supreme Court last week asking the FIRs against him to be combined. He also sought anticipatory bail to ward off arrest from Guwahati Police. Last week, Allahbadia’s lawyer, Abhinav Chandrachud - the son of former Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud - sought an urgent listing of the matter in the top court. However, the request was turned down by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna.

A young man who targeted and robbed a victim after connecting with him on ‘Grindr,’ a popular LGBTQ dating app, has been arrested by Filmnagar police.

The accused, Farhan Baig (25), a resident of Dabeerpura, allegedly created a fake profile on the app to lure a 22-year-old victim to a house in Filmnagar last week. Upon the victim’s arrival, Farhan allegedly threatened him and coerced him into transferring ₹10,000 to his e-wallet.

After complying with the demand, the victim left the premises and later filed a complaint with the police. Following an investigation, a case was registered, leading to Farhan’s arrest and subsequent remand.

Bengaluru: Panic has gripped Indiranagar after a series of brutal stabbing attacks were reported on Saturday night. At least three victims, including two pani puri vendors and a motorcyclist, were randomly attacked by an unidentified assailant between 9:30 PM and 10 PM near 100 Feet Road.

According to First Information Reports (FIRs), the suspect appears to be the same individual in all cases. Eyewitness descriptions say he is in his 20s, wearing a red T-shirt, white trousers, and a black cap at the time of the attacks. The victims recounted that the motorcyclist was slashed after the attacker pretended to ask for a ride, while the pani puri vendors were attacked over petty disputes related to payments and food availability.

Reports suggest the assailant’s modus operandi was to engage victims in conversation before launching a surprise attack with a knife, targeting their necks. Fortunately, the injured victims are currently stable and undergoing treatment.

Social media platforms, including Reddit, have been buzzing with speculation, with users claiming that the criminal is well-acquainted with the Indiranagar area, particularly the bylanes near 100 Feet Road.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru Police have identified the suspect and are making progress in tracking him down. Authorities have assured residents that the assailant will be apprehended soon and urged people to remain vigilant but not panic.

In what could possibly be the first case of Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) in Hyderabad, following its outbreak in Pune, a woman from Siddipet with typical symptoms of GBS reportedly admitted to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad with symptoms of GBS. The woman is in a critical condition and on ventilator support, according to reports.

GBS is a post-infection syndrome, which usually occurs two to six weeks after a person gets an infection. It is a rare condition that causes sudden numbness and muscle weakness, with symptoms including severe weakness in the limbs and diarrhea. Usually, GBS occurs after a patient recovers from a severe bout of bacterial or viral infection, as they weaken the person’s immunity.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the exact reason for the spike in cases of GBS in Pune is not yet known. “GBS is prevalent in both pediatric and young-age groups, it will not cause or lead to an epidemic or pandemic. Most of the patients recover fully after treatment,” ICMR said.

In a big relief to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Supreme Court on Friday ordered him to be released on interim bail in connection with the money laundering case linked to the excise policy case.
Pronouncing its verdict, a bench, headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna, referred to a larger bench CM Kejriwal’s plea against his arrest and subsequent remand by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for an authoritative pronouncement on the questions of law involved.

However, CM Kejriwal will not be able to walk out of jail since he was arrested by the CBI on June 26. The bench, also comprising Justice Dipankar Datta, on May 17, had reserved its verdict on CM Kejriwal’s petition contending that the ED is required to demonstrate the "necessity to arrest" on the "materials available" with a "reason to believe" that he has been guilty of an offence under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. During the hearing, the apex court had ordered the AAP supremo to be released on 21-day interim bail till June 1 in view of the Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, a Delhi court on Tuesday took cognizance of the supplementary prosecution complaint filed by the ED against CM Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Taking cognizance, special judge Kaveri Baweja issued a production warrant for CM Kejriwal for July 12. Recently, the Delhi High Court stayed a trial court's order granting bail to CM Kejriwal in the money laundering case, saying that the documents and arguments were not appreciated by the trial court. CM Kejriwal's distinct petitions seeking bail and challenging his arrest by CBI in the corruption case linked to the alleged liquor policy scam are pending before the Delhi High Court.

Police at Nampally railway station fired shots in self-defense during a confrontation with two armed robbers late Thursday night. One of the assailants sustained a bullet wound to the leg. The incident unfolded when the suspicious duo was approached by a decoy police team for inspection.

According to authorities, when the suspects were asked to surrender, one attempted to charge the officers with an axe while the other hurled stones at the police team. Tensions escalated as the confrontation intensified.
