𝗦𝗝𝗖𝗖 𝗦𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗣𝟱𝗠 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗧𝗬 𝗨𝘄𝗮𝗻

San Jose Community College (SJCC) incurred an estimated ₱5 million worth of damage to its classrooms, buildings, and facilities following the onslaught of Super Typhoon Uwan on November 9, 2025.

According to SJCC College Administrator Atty. Randy Blanza, the figure was based on their initial assessment conducted immediately after the typhoon.

Atty. Blanza said that the day after the devastation, they inspected the campus and were shocked by the extent of the damage.

He added that the Municipal Engineering Office was requested to assist in assessing the overall damage, expressing hope that the college will receive a supplemental budget to expedite repairs and restoration.

Academic operations have also been disrupted, with classes temporarily shifted to asynchronous mode while the administration continues inspections and minor rehabilitation works.

The college administrator ensures that the students’ safety is the priority and onsite classes will only resume once the campus is deemed safe and fully operational. | via Joshua Buendia

𝗙𝗠 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗿. 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

Christian Joseph Planas, representing the Financial Management (FM) Department, claimed the Mr. Intramural 2025 title in the recently concluded Mr. and Ms. Intramural 2025 pageant held on October 21, 2025, at San Jose Community College.

He also bagged special awards as Best in Sports Wear, Best in Ramp, Best in Swimming Trunks, and People's Choice Award.

"First for most I’m so happy and secondly this is the glorify God and all glory to him, and I can't do it without him so thanks to him and also to my supporters and my mom that is here right now. And I'm so happy that for all those years na hindi na secure ng CBA ang korona and this is the first time also, my first time so sobrang saya talaga and so thankful." Planas said in an interview.

"Sulit yong suporta nila AS IN! Super thankful kasi nahahype ako sa kanila, and dahil sa mga cheer nila and pag-nakikita ko sila sobrang nahahype talaga [ako] kaya napapangiti ako tapos kasi wala akong masabi, talagang solid [ang] suporta ng department, thank you sa kanila." he added.

The FM department was thrilled with his victory. FM Vice President, Vanessa Pettinson, expressed her congratulations, stating, "Actually nakaka shock then very overwhelmed parin kami ngayon na department namin especially [ha] first and title yong nakuha ng FM department. So this is a big win for us, but still thankful kami Kay Christian and Stephanie [because] they break those walls."

In the previous years, FM’s male bet always fell short in securing the title, finishing only as 3rd Runner-Up in 2024 and 1st Runner-Up in 2023. | via Aliza Khim Carmen, News Editor

The 14 handsome and lovely candidates put on a show of beauty, featuring their proud talents and exuding confidence.

The said event was originally set on 17th of October, but was put on hold and was rescheduled on 21st, because of the weather disturbance caused by Typhoon Ramil. | via Denisse Ann Borre, News Writer

𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗡 | BCAEd, muling pinataob ang anim na departamento sa Intramurals 2025

Muling pinatunayan ng Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAEd) na sila ang tinaguriang “Home of the Champions” matapos muling dominahin at pataubin ang anim na departamento sa katatapos lamang na Intramurals 2025.

Sa ika-pitong pagkakataon, nasungkit ng BCAEd ang Overall Championship matapos makalikom ng humigit-kumulang 1,483 puntos.

Samantala, napanatili naman ng Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) ang kanilang puwesto bilang 1st Runner-Up na may 1,334 puntos.

Sumunod sa kanila ang Marketing Management (MM) bilang 2nd Runner-Up na nagtala ng 1,089 puntos, habang pumangatlo ang Financial Management (FM) na may 1,085 puntos.

Nakamit naman ng Junior Economics and Management Society (JEMS) ang 4th place na may 675 puntos, sinundan ng Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) sa 5th place na may 670 puntos, at Junior Associate in Human Resource Development (JAHRD) sa 6th place na may 620 puntos.

Idinaos ngayong gabi, Oktubre 22, ang awarding ceremony kung saan pinarangalan ang mga nagsipagwagi, kasunod ang masayang victory party bilang pagdiriwang ng matagumpay na pagtatapos ng Intramurals 2025 | via Alex Bendo

LOOK: New titleholders of MMI 2025 officially crowned

The most anticipated pageant of Intramural held at SJCC Covered Court has finally ended on October 21, 2025.

The candidates took the stage with elegance and grace as they represented their respective departments. The candidates slayed in their golden production attire, sports wear, swimsuits and swim trunks, and formal wear and long gowns.

This annual event is a celebration of beauty, brains, and the spirit of sportsmanship.
