π—Ÿπ—’π—’π—ž | To prevent the rising number of dengue cases in Albay, the administrative staff and faculty members of San Jose Community College (SJCC) participated in a clean-up drive Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026.

The suspension and shifting of in-person classes to alternative learning modality for universities and colleges on Sept. 17 to 18, pursuant to PDRRMC-APSEMO Advisory 2026-17, allowed schools to conduct dengue prevention and control initiatives to eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites.

Moreover, following the clean-up drive this morning, two health personnel from the Rural Health Unit conducted a discussion on dengue prevention and control and addressed the common myths and misconceptions on dengue to the faculty and staff of SJCC. | via Khim Aliza Carmen

On this day, September 2, we commemorate the life, service, and bravery of General SimeΓ³n Arboleda Olaβ€”the last Filipino general to surrender to American forces during the Philippine-American war.

Established under Republic Act 11136, today is declared a special non-working holiday in the province of Albay.

May we be reminded today of General Ola's courage and heroism in pursuit of Philippine independence.

Before this day comes to a close, we take a moment to honor and remember the heroes whose courage, sacrifices, and unwavering dedication shaped the nation we know today.

Their stories remind us that heroism is not only found in moments of great struggle but also in the values of service, integrity, and love for the country that they left behind.

May we continue to carry their legacy forward by becoming responsible citizens who contribute to the growth and progress of our nation.

We remember the heroes of the past and the enduring impact of their sacrifices that continue to inspire generations of Filipinos.
