Do Not Seek Absolution II is an optional Honor Mission in Chapter 6 of Red Dead Redemption 2. To unlock it, complete Do Not Seek Absolution I, maintain an Honor level of at least 4, and wait for the mission marker to appear in Annesburg. The mission involves finding Edith Downes at Willard’s Rest and convincing her to return to her son, Archie.

The Widow of Willard’s Rest (Part III)

The Widow of Willard’s Rest is an optional side mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. It involves helping Charlotte Balfour, a widow, learn to survive in the wilderness after her husband’s death. The mission is triggered after the main story mission “A Fork in the Road” and consists of three parts, each building on Charlotte’s progress and Arthur’s guidance.

“The Veteran,” a mission line in Red Dead Redemption 2, follows Hamish Sinclair, a disabled war veteran with a wooden prosthetic leg. A former U.S. Army soldier, Hamish is accompanied by his horse, Buell. He becomes available after Chapter 5, near O’Creagh’s Run in Ambarino.

Helping Hamish earns you Honor and potentially grants you access to Buell. However, some missable rewards, such as the boar’s trophy, require completing Part IV at the right time.

Part I
Upon encountering Hamish, you find him with his leg prosthetic still attached to Buell after being thrown off. Your mission is to locate Buell near the lake, calm the horse, and lead it back.

Part II
After waiting approximately one in-game day, you can join Hamish for a fishing trip. They attempt to catch The Great Tyrant, a legendary fish. During the fishing trip, Hamish falls into the water, and you rescue him. As a token of appreciation, Hamish gives you a special lake lure.

Part III
Another day later, you embark on a hunting trip near Hamish’s home. You track the she-wolf, but are ambushed by a pack of wolves, including a boss alpha wolf and other wolves.

“Geology for Beginners II” is the final phase of the Stranger Mission chain in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Start the Geology for Beginners mission after completing Chapter 2. Find Francis Sinclair at his cabin northwest of Strawberry and east of Owanjila Lake. He’ll give you the mission to locate and document 10 Rock Carvings.

Find and document ten rock carvings scattered across the map. Mail the locations to Francis Sinclair at any Post Office.

After mailing the tenth Rock Carving, wait a few in-game days for a prompt to pick up Francis Sinclair’s Invitation Letter at the Post Office. Read the letter to trigger the final mission marker and return to Francis’s cabin for the final reward.

The final reward is the Old Brass Compass, an ingredient for crafting the Raven Claw Talisman at a Fence. This talisman permanently slows weapon degradation by 20%.

In Red Dead Redemption 2, Chapter 6 concludes the narrative arc for Beau Gray and Penelope Braithwaite in “The Course of True Love V.”

After completing a main mission in Chapter 6 (like “Visiting Hours”), a letter from Penelope Braithwaite will be delivered to your tent in camp. Read the letter to mark the mission start location. Head to the Braithwaite Manor near the lake to meet Penelope.

Es**rt Penelope to Rhodes Station, buy train tickets, and defeat Beau’s cousins in a fistfight. Eliminate Penelope’s cousins on the train, drive to Riggs Station, and secure a stagecoach for the couple.

At mission’s end, Penelope offers a Sapphire Bracelet. You can accept it, gaining Positive Honor, or refuse it, still gaining Positive Honor.

“Do Not Seek Absolution” is a two-part mission with Edith and Archie Downes, unlocked after “A Fork in the Road” in Chapter 5 or early Chapter 6.

Part I: “Do Not Seek Absolution I”

Finish “A Fork in the Road,” ensure Arthur’s Honor is at least +4, and then head to Annesburg to begin your journey.

Arthur intervenes in the mine, where Archie is being bullied, by defeating his tormentors and providing him with the financial means to leave Annesburg.
