Today came the inconceivable news that Akira Toriyama, whose creations include "Dr. Slump" and "Dragon Ball," has passed away at age 68. Today is the 75th birthday of the King of Anison, Ichiro "Aniki" Mizuki! Aniki passed away Dec. 6 after battling lung cancer, but performed right to the end. The world has lost one of the greatest of all anime and tokusatsu song composers, Chuumei Watanabe, who passed away on June 23 at age 96. At midnight U.S. Central time, about a half-hour from now, we'll play an hour of our favorite of his tokusatsu songs, and then some of his greatest anime songs the same time tomorrow night.
