I make videos that balance creative thought with technical filmmaking concepts - the kind of content which I wished I'd watched before stepping onto a film set for the first time.

In tomorrow’s video I go over the workflow of how film is shot in the digital era - from choosing a film stock in pre-production to how it is dealt with in post. You can find it now, along with another early-access video, on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/indepthcine

With the impending release of Last Night In Soho, I thought I'd make a video on a cinematographer who some of you have requested. Chung-hoon Chung is a master of shooting horror and thriller films and a frequent collaborator with director Park Chan-wook.

The video is up now for early access on Patreon and will go live on YouTube this weekend.

Tomorrow's episode is on a cinematographer who I once had the pleasure of camera assisting: Jeff Cronenweth. What's you favourite movie that he's shot? Stay tuned for the release or sign up to Patreon Early Access if you'd like to view this and other videos before their YouTube release.

For the 200K subscriber special instead of looking at examples of great filmmaking (as I usually so) I thought I'd look at the making of a film which is often considered to be the worst of all time. If you haven't watched The Room before I highly recommend it - well, if you enjoy cringe. The video will release this Sunday and, as always, is also available for early access on Patreon.

A huge thanks to everyone for getting IDC to 200K subscribers!

When I started this channel just over a year ago it was to have some fun making video essays during lockdown, brush up on my editing and hopefully put out some information that people might find educational. I never imagined that it would grow into what it is today. Thanks to all of you, running this channel has now (almost) gotten to the point of becoming a full time job! None of this would have been possible without your support, encouragement and engagement.

To try and say thanks I'll be giving away a IDC official hoodie. To stand a chance to win, follow on Instagram, go to the latest post and follow the instructions there.

This week's video will look at the cinematography of Natasha Braier. I'd recommend checking out some of the films she's photographed to get a sense of her work. The video is available now for early access on Patreon and will go live on YouTube this Sunday.

I've been a bit busy shooting lately so there won't be a YouTube release this Sunday. However next week's video is up for Early Access on Patreon at the moment - I think you can guess which director it'll be about.
