Was this Jeff Goldblum’s first acting role (as an extra)??

Get your champagne (or coffee) and cake and join us while we discuss a Case of Immunity starring Hector Elizondo, Sal Mineo, and Peter Falk. We chat about possible inspirations for the plot, Harold Lloyd’s Greenacres estate, Hector Elizondo’s career and more!

1. Jeff Goldblum as a protester.
2. It’s always nice to see a familiar face. The doc in A Case of Immunity also appeared in Forgotten Lady.
3. Exterior of Harold Lloyd’s Greenacres Estate
4. This dress is similar to the dresses seen in Candidate for Crime and Deadly State of Mind. Burton Miller did costumes for Candidate and Immunity, but Grady Hunt was costume designer for Deadly State of Mind.
5. Our podcast episode snack inspiration came from the cakes in the kitchen from the bakery around the corner.
6. Dueling drink fountains.
7. Fun 70s food! What is the pink stuff???
8. Some of Paul’s research on Sal Mineo.
9. Two films directed by Ted Post, who also directed this episode.

2. Once again, glasses/contact lenses get Columbo thinking. Can you recall the other episode where contacts help solve the case?
3. Rahman’s driver’s license.
4. Liz is also looking for those tasty snacks. Protester’s sandwich fits the bill!
5. Hector Elizondo as Hassan Salah
6. Elizondo’s other role in a film with a fictional country: The Princess Diaries.

“It won’t take much to break your story.”

Spoiler:
Columbo does not get the murderer in the end.

✨”It won’t take much to break your story.” … The end of the episode - one of the few (only?) ones where Columbo doesn’t get the murderer in the end.
✨Ned Diamond dance studio.
✨A close up of the unique windows - could this have been at Universal studios? Liz looked for quite a while to find this spot with no luck.
✨Grace Wheeler, ballerina-ninja-assassin, sneaks out to the car for the gun. The props here felt like part of a real home.
✨The colors in the screening room were so vibrant - grass green and bright fuscia-purple. And here’s the brandy inspiration for our drink.
✨Ice cream for dog. This location still serves ice cream.
✨Francine York plays Sgt. Leftkowitz and Starred in a few Ted V Mikels' films.
✨”Are you insinuating that I’m not strong enough to carry the show by myself?” Grace is very close to losing it.
✨Army Archerd played himself and wore this amazing suit in a few other interviews.

“Have you taken leave of your senses?”

Grace Wheeler, played by Janet Leigh, is pretty gracious towards Columbo as he pokes around her yard during her fancy party.

And how about those feathery pant cuffs??

RIP David Lynch

One of Paul’s first written and edited video pieces was on David Lynch in celebration of his 52nd Birthday. It aired on a southern morning television show called Waay Too Early which aired in the Tennessee Valley Area in ‘Huntsvegas’ / Huntsville, Alabama back in January 20, 1998.

✨Columbo chats with his prime suspect.

✨Yes, we had to discuss sofas again. Also, Nadia's dress is the same as Mrs. Hayward's pink dress at Nelson Hayward's surprise birthday party for her in Candidate for Crime. Nadia's is just a shade darker than Victoria's.
✨Here's Nora Chandler's sofa from Requiem for a Falling Star - it's the same as Nadia's!
✨And you might remember this photo from before - Liz found a similar one at a local thrift store. If only there was a room for it in at her house!
