I had the absolute pleasure of attending The Wild Adventure Retreat with over the weekend at Sandhill House in Dunfanaghy, Donegal!

It was breath taking and I’m still in awh. I haven’t felt this present in a long time and being able to allow myself to do so, with such amazing and golden people made the experience so so beautiful. I can’t put into words how grateful I am for this experience. Thank you to everyone who made this weekend such a memorable one! And a massive thank you to Lucille, Phil and the team for putting together this wonderful retreat together!

Solo travel is something I’ve always wanted to try, and in this video, I’m sharing my honest experience! My first solo trip took me to Edinburgh, where I navigated the city, explored new places, and embraced the freedom of traveling alone, whilst meeting incredible people along the way. A year later, I took another solo adventure—this time to Valencia—to see how the experience compared.

From the excitement and challenges to the unexpected moments along the way, I’ll take you through my journey, sharing what I learned and what I’d do differently. If you’re thinking about traveling alone or just curious about what it’s really like, this video is for you!

12 Destinations for Growth. A passion project I embarked on towards the end of January 2024, with the goal of solo travelling to 12 different countries, cities or towns across the globe whilst documenting the process.Over the past year, I have learnt so much about myself, others, different cultures and ways of living. It’s been an absolute privilege to have met everyone so far on this journey and I can’t wait to meet many more! I will continue to complete this project by the end of the year. While uploading one video per destination on the 12th of every month.Keep those eyes peeled!

Copenhagen 2024 - Fredrik’s Church (The Marble Church)

Funny enough it’s not completely made out of marble, as it just wasn’t feasible and the original architect Nicolai Eigtved, died in 1754. Only 5 years after the first foundation stone was laid which halted construction for quite some time. Then in 1766 King Fredrik V dies, who was eager that the church was to be built out of marble. Finally in 1770, King Christian VII decides to suspend his father’s project due to lack of financial funds. Leaving the church to finally be complete in 1894, as Ferdinand Melhdahl who took over the design was forced to use limestone blocks in its construction to finish the project, leaving a beautiful church similar to the design of Nicolai Eigtved with an interesting historical story. This architectural beauty deserved a post on its own.

Day 2 of Edinburgh. We visited the graves and heard about the history of the grave robbers and how they were being paid to supply corpses to an anatomist for his dissection lectures. It was very fascinating yet slightly disturbing at the same time. Before leaving we seen the grave of the dog Bobby where people had left sticks in front of his gravestone.

After that we explored more of the city, stumbling across the beautiful markets where foods of multiple cultures were being served. I would’ve loved to try the paella but the queue was too long for my liking. So I tried arancini instead, which was delicious!

As the day came to an end we went up to the castle to try catch a sunset. There was too much cloud coverage yet it made for some moody photos overlooking the city!

Day 1 of Edinburgh. What a stunning city. Full of beautiful architecture, history and people. I was taking away by the historical architecture in particular. Although most importantly this trip will hold a lot of memories close to my heart, due to the people I met on my venture. From the strangers I met on the street, to the people I met in the hostel. The conversations and craic we had was just priceless. For my first solo adventure, I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
