🚨 NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: MILES BAILEY 🔥

5 sacks. 5 TFL. 3 forced fumbles.

Sac State’s own Miles Bailey just took home National Defensive Player of the Week honors after wrecking FCS West. Carson Conklin also grabbed MAC Offensive POW.

Coach Kang’s take:
“Bounce-back win felt good… but picking on small schools ain’t the goal. That doesn’t land big-time players. I need big-time players making big-time plays. Our secondary is still bad.

Offseason work has to be serious. Another O-line hit — Bryson Summers broken thumb, out a few games. Stallworth and Hector limited in practice.”

Next up: @ Fresno State — late-night, 10:30 PM, 90-degree heat.

They’re 0-1 but averaging 38 points. We’re averaging 35 and running for 230 a game. Secondary will be tested again.

Top 25 stayed mostly the same. Notre Dame dropped after the Wisconsin stunner. Heisman race still the usual suspects.

🚨 WEEK 1: SLIME KANG GETS THE FIRST W — SAC STATE 47, FCS WEST 10

The response was loud.

After the opener sting and losing Curtis for the year, the Hornets came home and unloaded. Carson Conklin threw for 310 yards and 3 TDs, added 2 rushing scores, and looked like a different quarterback. Matthew Coleman cooked for two long touchdowns.

The running backs shared the load Borders, Godley, Rhaney all ate. Defense? Miles Bailey dropped 5 sacks.

We trailed early, then exploded for 28 points in the third quarter alone. Final score: 47-10. Total offense: 564 yards.

Still messy as hell 14 penalties for 119 yards. Discipline has to tighten. But the statement was made. First win under Kang is in the books.

Next: @ Fresno State. Night game. Real test.
