The summer of 30th birthdays❣️ A very belated birthday post for my love, my rib, my baby daddy and also my husband, David! (Time to organize, select, post and caption pictures is short lived with a baby lol, needed vacation to get to it 🤣). I had so much fun planning your surprise birthday party as a moment to celebrate you and all that you have accomplished. The day began with “family portraits” at Getty Villa and ended with a surprise party in Malibu. Given that for your 23rd birthday, I also started the day with “couple pictures” and ended with a surprise party, I have no idea how you did not see this one coming a mile away. Your go with the flow attitude is one of the many things I love about you❣️🫶🏽 Cannot wait to throw you 100 more surprise birthdays (since I do it every year anyways 🤣). PS watching our son be obsessed with you is another one of the many things I love about you 🥰

When I was pregnant I prayed that he would have my eyes. My height. And everything else from my husband. His dimples - similar to mine, but deeper and more pronounced were a gift from God to melt me to my core. Motherhood unraveled me and turned me into the best version of myself. I hope my son grows into being the best version of my husband & I 🤍🫶🏽 I love being a wifey & mommy❣️

🧡 Introducing our son’s nursery - the Igbo Baby Oasis🧡

It was deeply important to me that our baby be surrounded by his Nigerian roots. We included a picture of our traditional Igbo wedding, a photo of his great grand relatives in David’s village, album covers of African artists, the traditional Igbo sock cap, and David’s fan with his father’s chief name that we had made Nigeria. 🧡 🇳🇬

Can’t wait to see him try jollof, egusi soup and fufu for the first time - probably will be ready for it straight out of the womb! 🍼🌶️

As I near the end of my pregnancy, it’s impossible to fully articulate the journey. So many aspects of the experience are contrary to each other, but true all at the same time. I feel an all consuming love for my son, who I haven’t even laid eyes on. I feel my prior life slipping away from me. I feel fear, but I also feel ready. When my son is born, a mother will also be born. I can’t wait to meet them both 💗
