🇹🇭😍 Loy Krathong in Sukhothai was simply magical, it left us completely mesmerized by its beauty. We'd highly recommend it!
🌸 Loy Krathong is one of Thailand’s most popular festivals, celebrated on the full moon night of the 12th lunar month, usually in November.
🏞️ “Loy” means to float, and “Krathong” refers to a little beautifully decorated basket, traditionally made from banana leaves, adorned with flowers, candles, and incense sticks.
🙏 It symbolizes letting go of guilt, negativity, and the past, while making a wish for renewal and love.
🛕 Here in Sukhothai, the celebrations take place among the ancient temple ruins illuminated by thousands of lanterns and candles, creating each year one of the most magical sights in Thailand.
