Slurping Slurpee's and Getting Diabetes From A Big Gulp - The 7-Eleven Story

Ever thought about the history of the convenience store? Well now you never have to, because we're diving into the history of 7-Eleven, our favourite slinger of Slurpee's. So grab a very, very cheap coffee, a pie from the warmer, a 4L soft drink, and settle in for a tale that somehow ends with Sean buying a hat for $1 in 2025.

The 4 Horseman of the Base-Pocolypse - Some Crazy 1900's Baseball Men

If You're Going to Lie, Don't Record It - The Watergate Scandal

Sometimes the best thing you can do is tell the truth. Maybe Richard Nixon should have learnt that in his younger years, as this week on Cheeky Tales Aaron takes us through the scandal that gave us the suffix '-gate'. Forced to Sail The Antarctic Without A Ship - Shackleton and the Endurance

A WWII Operation So Seamless They Made It A Movie - Operation Postmaster

We go back to two of our favourite topics (as we do every 2-4 episodes) and hit boats and WWII, this time as part of John's 3 part connected series. Listen as John takes Aaron through the of Operation Postmaster, a daring and risky raid that many in the British Armed Forces thought could trigger Spain joining the Nazi's in WWII. Wreck The Halls - The Time Cyclone Tracy Ruined Christmas | Cheeky Tales Podcast #97

Darwin was a vibrant and fun city in the 1970's. At least until Cyclone Tracy blew in on Christmas morning of 1974, carving a path of destruction unlike many we've seen in this country. This week, in an episode written while under the looming spectre of Cyclone Alfred in Brisbane a couple weeks ago, Aaron takes John and Sean through the tale of Australia's most notorious cyclone.

We're hitting two favourites in one again with World Wars and boats that go under the sea. This week John takes us through the history of the humble Submarine, one of the coolest inventions in human history. From 'person breathing through long stick' to the modern day Nuclear Subs, learn along with the boys as they get surprisingly close to German translations.

A Life Fit For A Gothic Icon - The Tragic Life And Death Of Edgar Allan Poe

It's not a phase! Edgar Allan Poe is a gothic icon, and we're sure you've heard of his work. If not, maybe crack open a book sometime!
