🦻🏻Hear me out. I've both spring and fall calved for most of my life. They each have their pros and cons BUT fall calving is by far my preferred season to calve.

Here's why⬇️
Nice weather = less stress on cattle and people
⬇️
Less stress = fewer health problems, fewer instances of dystocia and fewer management errors from burnout
⬇️
Less issues = a more enjoyable season

The cows can be cows and work for the ranch, because they can calve out on pasture too.

It's not for everyone, but it is for me.
