I'm DJing this Friday night in Berlin at Giri, to celebrate the launch of Shifting Basslines- a podcast series about rave culture and the climate crisis. There will also be a panel discussion with Sarj, nono and myself who all produced an episode.

I created episode 3 - Dancefloors as portals which is all about dancing, the body, grief and social change.

All episodes will air on Refuge Worldwide from tomorrow

Emergent Bass Berlin takes place again this Saturday 16th in the garden at Mensch Meier! I will be playing from 19 - 20.30.

This will be our last event at Mensch Meier as sadly the venue will close at the end of 2023. This space has been our home for the last three years, and has enabled us to share many joyful, playful, bass filled dance experiences outside (reducing risk while connecting during this ongoing public health crisis).

We are unsure of what will come next for us at Emergent Bass. We will be in conversation over the coming months to feel into how and if we will continue... Regardless of what happens next, we have achieved a lot. One of my aims as the co-founder of the party was to book predominantly Black DJs and bring more Afro-diaspora sounds to Berlin; to have music within the lineage of sound system culture take its rightful place as the pivotal foundation of electronic music. Berlin clubs are now embracing more polyrhythmic, Afro-diaspora sounds across the city and more Black, Q***r parties are popping up. I sense we have made some contribution to this change and shown that this is not only needed but possible.

We still have a way to go to grow cultures of care in the club space and create equity for Black and global majority artists but I see some ripples of change beginning to flow.

Thanks for all the love, support and dance floor joy over the last three years. I hope to see many of you in the garden on Saturday x

Finally uploaded my mix from emergent bass last november...

Tis a mixture of hard drum, afro tech, jungle and uk funky. Hope you enjoy xx

I am finally getting around to uploading one of my last mixes of 2022. I played this set at Emergent Bass in November and the dance floor got really juicy and delicious. This is a blend of hard drum,

I'm blushing on the inside as I share this...

I used to love to sing but I stopped performing at 15, feeling afraid to continue as I didn't want to "step on the toes" of my best friend at the time who had a beautiful voice and was pursuing a career as a singer.

In summer 2021, I met James Fish at the Palace Residency and we hit it off. He was looking for a vocalist and I was interested in singing again. In that first practice session we spoke for most of it about our lives, being mixed kids of the African diaspora and our love of electronic music. We then practiced for 15 mins and did a short performance at the residency. Two weeks later, James invited me to do this rooftop video shoot.

It was an organic and flowing process. A gorgeous collaboration and I am really happy to be able to share it with y'all ❤

All the poetry by yours truly, apart from a verse from Aaliyah's Try Again (one of my fav tunes of the 90's).

I hope you enjoy ❤
