Rosh Hashana Thought
—————————————
On the eve of Rosh Hashana, the entire world, including our Creator, experiences an existential crisis and reverts back to its source.
There is so much darkness down here. So much chaos. So much confusion.
Maybe the creation of our physical world wasn’t such a good idea after all, our Creator considers.
Maybe we would have been better off had we not descended down into such fragile, temperamental, mortal bodies, our souls contemplate.
And for a brief movement, on the eve of Rosh Hashana, our world experiences a spiritual void. Palatable to only the most sensitive amongst us.
Our Creator weighs the pros and cons of it all, leaving space for us to persuade Him one way or another.
It is only when we blow the shofar, that we tangibly affirm that we willingly accept the challenge of creation as well as our role in it.
In spite of the difficulties, in spite of the great spiritual descent involved,
We ultimately recognize the wondrous and unique potential of our physical world
To create a dwelling place for the Divine here on Earth. To sift through the chaos. To transform the darkness. To clarify the confusion.
There is no greater feat.
Note the shape of the shofar, which represents this reversion to Source and ultimate renewal - with its tight, constricted mouthpiece emanating such powerful cries. Like a hidden wellspring from which a raging waterfall emerges.
Such does every Rosh Hashana usher in a new and intense light, the likes of which our world has never seen before.
May we all merit to experience this radiance in the form of revealed blessings in all areas of our lives this coming year of 5786.
Shana Tova!!! 🍎🍯🍷🎊
