*JAMMU POLICE RESTORES ₹62 LAKHS TO HYDERABAD COMPLAINANT IN LANDMARK CASE*

In a remarkable demonstration of efficiency and dedication, the Jammu Police has successfully restored ₹62 lakhs to Mir Firasath Ali Khan, a complainant from Hyderabad, who fell victim to cheating and fraud in Jammu. The case, investigated by SDPO Bakshi Nagar, Dr. Satish Bhardwaj JKPS, under the supervision of SSP Jammu and SP South highlights the commitment of the Jammu Police to justice and victim-centric approach.

The complainant, Mir Firasath Ali Khan, had approached Police Station Bahu Fort, alleging that certain individuals from Jammu were attempting to sell him fake diamonds in the guise of renowned Kashmir Blue Sapphires. An FIR was registered, and the investigation revealed a larger conspiracy involving Mohammed Rayaz s/o Reham Ali R/O Gurdan Bala Rajouri A/P Chinor Jammu and Mohammed Taj Khan S/O Haji Jumma Khan R/O Potha Surankot Poonch, A/P Meenia Mohalla Trikuta Nagar along with their associates, who had duped the complainant of ₹3 crore and were attempting to sell him fake Kashmir Blue Sapphires for ₹25 crore.

During the investigation, the IO seized numerous fake Kashmir Sapphire necklaces from the accused's possession and recovered ₹62,00,000 from Mohammed Rayaz and his associates. The Honorable Court subsequently released the seized money in favor of the complainant.

The complainant has expressed his gratitude to the Jammu Police, particularly SSP Jammu, Sh. Joginder Singh, SP South, Ajay Sharma, and SDPO Bakshi Nagar, Dr. Satish Bhardwaj JKPS, for their professionalism and dedication in recovering his hard-earned money.

Furthermore, the IO has identified the property acquired by the accused using the proceeds of crime and has approached the Honorable Court to proceed with attachment under Section 107 BNSS, a new clause introduced to make the criminal laws more victim-centric. This section empowers the court to attach and forfeit the said property to restore the cheated amount to the complainant.

KATHUA, 07JULY : Intensifying its action against drug dealings and to neutralised the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS* today recovered approx. 13.04 grams of He**in (Chitta) like narcotics at Hardo Muthi area of P/S Rajbagh, 02 drug peddles were arrested alongwith narcotics substance got seized on spot.

On 07-07-2025 a Police team led by Insp Ajay Singh Chib SHO PS Rajbagh assisted by PSI Gulshan Partap Singh under the supervision of *SP Ops. Kathua Sh. Mukund Tibrewal IPS* and SDPO Border Sh. Dheeraj Singh Katoch during naka checking at Hardo Muthi noticed two suspects who were directed to stop for checking. On physical checking approx. 13.04 grams of He**in (Chitta) like narcotics recovered from the possession of 1. Layaqat Ali S/o Abdul Gani 2. Sajad Hussain S/o Junaid Ali R/o Hiranagar District Kathua.Thereafter all the recovered narcotics approx. 13.04 grams He**ine like substance was seized and two drug peddlers were arrested.On this a case vide FIR No. 124/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh while further investigation is underway.
District Police consistent efforts against drug peddlers try to reassure the community members that we are making untiring efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.

*Illegal Structures Used for Bovine Dumping Demolished in Khanpura, Nagrota in Joint Operation by Jammu Police and JDA.*

In a significant crackdown on bovine smuggling under *Operation Kamdhenu,* Jammu Police successfully thwarted two separate attempts at illegal Cattle transportation during routine naka checking on the National Highway (NHW) in the Nagrota area, rescuing *34 bovine animals.*

Following the successful operation, two cases:-
*FIR No.141/2025 and FIR No.145/2025were registered at Police Station Nagrota* under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (PCA Act).

The accused in these cases have been identified as:
*1. Babur Chaudhary,* S/O Mohd Hussain, R/O Maraliyan, Miran Sahib, Jammu
*2. Zakir Hussain,* S/O Ahmad Ali, R/O Khanpur, Nagrota
*3. Bashir Ahmed Kichloo,* S/O Haji Abraham, R/O Khanpur, Nagrota

A truck bearing registration number *JK21D/0182,* used in the transportation of the animals, was also seized.

During the course of investigation, it was revealed that the *accused had illegally constructed permanent (pacca) sheds* on land belonging to the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) in Khanpura, Nagrota.These unauthorized structures were being used as *hubs for the illegal storage and transit of cattle.*

Acting promptly and following due legal process, a joint team of Jammu Police and JDA officials today conducted a demolition drive at the site and razed the illegal structures.

This action highlights the Jammu & Kashmir Police’s firm resolve under Operation Kamdhenu to combat bovine smuggling, prevent the encroachment of government land, and uphold the rule of law across the Union Territory.

The Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu Sh.Joginder Singh-JKPS today on 04.07.2025 held a Crime/Security review at District Police Lines.The meeting was attended by all the Zonal SsP,SDPO's, DySP DAR,SHO’s & IC PP’s of Jammu District.

During the meeting in addition to Crime review,various security measures were discussed for controlling crime & ensuring peace and stability in the district. Various aspects of policing including quality investigation of cases, crime disposal, verifications, disposal of NDPS, UAPA cases, inquest proceedings,history sheeters ,absconders, missing persons and other issues related to accountable policing were also discussed.Disposal of cases registered under Old as well as New Criminal Laws of each Police Station/Sub-division was discussed in detail including disposal within time limit period of 60 & 90 days.

*Progress on CCTNS front,e-Sakshaya,SID’s, e-summons was also taken up during meeting.*
*Progress on mandatory utilisation of FSL services was also discussed.*

SSP Jammu also advised the police officers posted in the district in various capacities to provide a good policing to the general public and give a tough time to anti-national and antisocial elements.

SSP Jammu specifically mentioned that all drug peddlers should be identified & strict action need to be taken against them .There is clearly policy of ZERO TOLERANCE against Drugs and whosoever, is involved in drug trafficking should be strictly dealt

*SSP Jammu emphasized upon the participating officers to ensure quantitative and qualitative disposal of under investigation cases of various nature as priority and to take stringent action against those who are involved in various social crimes.*

SSP Jammu stressed for quality investigation and speedy disposal of under investigation case and reduction in the overall pendency to ensure speedy justice to the victims.

*He also directed that there is zero tolerance to corruption, burking of crime and indiscipline at any level. He said that the efficiency of police can be gauged from the time it takes to respond to the day to day situations. TWO DRUG PEDDLERS NABBED WITH 10 GRAMS HE**IN LIKE SUBSTANCE BY SAMBA POLICE

Samba, July 03, 2025: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers/peddlers, Samba Police has arrested two drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur and recovered 10 grams approximately he**in (chitta) like substance from their possession.

A Police party of Police Station Vijaypur during vehicles checking at Gudwal road near Rakh Barotian, intercepted a Swift Dzire car bearing registration number JK01AX- 3438 for its checking. During checking, 10 grams approximately he**in like substance was recovered from the possession of the two persons travelling in the said car.

The drug peddler identified as Irfan Ahmed Haroon S/o Gulzar Ahmed Haroon R/o Zenghar Mohala Habakadal Srinagar and Owais Ahmed Rah S/o Abdul Rehman Rah R/o Habakadal Srinagar have been arrested and contraband item has been seized. The said car has also been seized in the instant case.

A case FIR No. 70/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.

In a significant breakthrough, the police party led by IC PP GMC PSI Tanvinder Singh, under the supervision of SHO Bakshinagar and SDPO City West, has successfully recovered two stolen scooties and cash amounting to ₹6,000/- in connection with three different FIRs.

Acting on reliable sources and leveraging technical support, the police team apprehended four accused individuals. *NOWABAD POLICE STATION, JAMMU APPREHENDS MAN WITH SHARP-EDGED WEAPON DURING HOTEL CHECKING DRIVE*

As part of enhanced security arrangements ahead of the forthcoming *Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra–2025,* Nowabad Police has been conducting intensified checking operations across hotels, lodges, and vulnerable spots falling under its jurisdiction.

During one such surprise inspection, an alert police party conducted a checking operation at Hotel Grand Inn, Sant Market, Jewel, Jammu. During the operation, a person was found in possession of a *sharp-edged weapon (toka)* under suspicious circumstances.

The individual was immediately taken into custody and later identified as *Gourav Dogra, son of Rashpal, a resident of Jambal Bhatyari, Dhansal, Jammu.* Upon questioning, the individual could not provide any satisfactory reason for carrying the weapon in the hotel premises.

In this connection, a case *FIR No. 88/2025 under Section 4/25 of the Arms Act* has been registered at Police Station Nowabad, and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the motive and any possible links to criminal activity.

This development comes amid ongoing measures by District Police Jammu to maintain strict vigil and ensure the peaceful and secure conduct of the annual yatra. Extensive checking, surveillance, and area domination exercises are underway across the city.

District Police Jammu remains committed to safeguarding the lives of pilgrims and citizens and appeals to the general public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police in maintaining public order and security.

To ensure effective coordination among all stakeholders, a joint meeting was convened at the office of SDPO Nagrota under the chairmanship of SP Rural Jammu. The meeting was attended by the Zonal Officer, representatives from the Army, SDPO Nagrota, Sector Officers, all Assistant Commandants (ACs) of CAPF, SHOs of Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli, and representatives from Gawar and Appco construction companies.
