Once considered the best trail in Ticknock, Afterburner now gets overlooked on many spins! I took the SB130 down it recently and boy was it fun…… if it’s rock gardens and berms you’re looking for, look no further!! Usually the traverse and small climb from the fork is a puddle fest but I got lucky, dry all the way. The last push up to it has become very technical with trail erosion… I quite enjoyed the challenge!! Go ride your bike.

Sleepy heads. We are about to do the craziest mass start race in the world …… think Redbull Foxhunt and multiply it by 10. Ken is in the main Mega race I could only manage the amateur race as I had a nightmare qualifying. He starts before me but my mission is to chase him down!! (Won’t happen!!!) See you on the other side.

How it’s going. This pic from practice yesterday is just after the start line of the main race. It starts at an altitude of 3330m and descends through the glacier and traverses the top of Alpe D’Huez dropping in to Allemond 22km later. The pros will do it in about 40/45 min. I’ll be lucky to catch my flight on Monday.

Ah here…… wasn’t looking forward to racing this at all… started on s3. The toughest / wettest! Did 2 runs then went over and Did 1 and 2 twice. Nailed them so decided I’d go back and try 3 again. Started it off great and was thingking “this is deadly” until the steep chute before the fire road… made a mess of it and otb’d …..was about to hang up my boots but decided to go up and try again. Nailed it…. Was very happy and very surprised to arrive in and see my time put my in P3. Stoked. Thanks to .
